2 dunno but a nice looking -7, 4 is apparently one time agpilot and now RA CFI from not too far from Watts. Must say, I wasn't listening to the radio but I was a leeetle surprised to see the aircraft doing what looked very much like a display pretty much where others were on downwind.

I understand the biplane is a scale WWI Nieuport, designed by Graham Lee and with a VW of some description hidden under the cowl. I was quite impressed with the performance and the clattery VW certainly sounded more like the original, than the 2 stroke Rotax that some of these things sport.

There was a Sopwith (Camel?) there too, along with the makings of what I am told will be a Fokker Eindeker, so what with the TAVAS triplane and others, the WWI replica scene seems quite active.

Thanks, my own anorak is a little faded, hence the (?), I was working off the assurances of a young man standing nearby. Rather looking forward to seeing a fleet of these beasties airborne.

Ah, de Havilland....

Caboolture this last Sunday, the aircraft assembled for flypasts celebrating the Redcliffe Aero Club's 45th Anniversary. Come to think of it, this photo could have been taken 45 years ago as well!

The irony is that the old never-go would have been new, and now all the really old ones are in far better nick!

Your formation looked good from the air as I was inbound from the SW.

Jaba,

"The irony is that the old never-go would have been new, and now all the really old ones are in far better nick!"

I found that to be almost as cryptic as a typical 'yr right' contribution until I noticed the Navajo on the far left of the photo...

No retribution required. I've already slapped myself with a wet lettuce...

Dora – thanks for the Caboolture photo, great to see so many 'proper' aircraft in one place in such good shape.

Sorry – no de Havilland aircraft involved in the clip below but, the safety message gets well and truly delivered.

DAS AUTO

Good init...

Gerry - when I was thinking about the caption I was originally going to write something like "apart from the hulk in the background..." - then I realized that Navajos appeared in my log book, 45 years ago! Gulp. How time flies...

Jaba, was that you in the Bonanza?

Apologies for stretching the definition of this thread just this once here, but you can't easily get this sort of picture in Dunnunda.

Taken at Old Warden UK a few days back - 2/3 of the BBMF favoured us with a couple of flypasts ....

The rest of the show was equally impressive - (mostly) rare aircraft flown with imagination and excellent presentation to (and for) the gallery ....

I trust an adult was supervising Jaba in such a refined and sophisticated machine!

Went to an astonishingly beautiful place recently. They're very advanced. The place had an "AFIZ" through which a third party traffic information service was provided to everyone in the vicinity.

You and Dora are funny lads aren't ya!

I have been known to fly that particular sophisticated G36 machine unsupervised from time to time. But them Bo pilots are pretty easy to fool i have found

Dora….I was inbound in the Retard Vehicle while said Bo was inbound to YRED. I did drive over later for a look see.
