The Ship will reportedly be the Flagship of the Turkish Navy as well as the beginning of the Massive Drone Fleet that the Turkish Naval Forces are planning to Deploy by 2025.

and they're very very expensive - using a $1 mm missile to shoot down a $ 500 drone isn't a good way to stay in business - and the UK has only very limited ground based anti-aircraft capability anyway

The Turkish heavy-weight attack UAV (Bayraktar Akinci) and unmanned fighter (Bayraktar Kizilelma) carried out a joint flight. Selcuk Bayraktar shared the footage.
The Spanish probably took a long look at invincible for the Juan Carlos was built to fly harriers as well

More details emerge about 🇹🇷Turkey's plan to build 60,000 tonne STOBAR aircraft carrier.
CODAG propulsion, Ski ramp capable of operating 50 aircraft, including Hurjet (small jet) and Anka-3 & Kızılelma (UCAVs) and Bayraktar TB3 (MALE).
The design has been made with little space for future convertibility from a ski ramp to a CATOBAR-capable flight deck.
There are ongoing efforts to develop a domestic catapult system that will be integrated into the ship at a later stage.
CODAG propulsion, Ski ramp capable of operating 50 aircraft, including Hurjet (small jet) and Anka-3 & Kızılelma (UCAVs) and Bayraktar TB3 (MALE).

The general characteristics shown say four turbine COGAG not CODAG which seems an odd choice given the associated high fuel burn, the Invincibles had less then half the displacement and I doubt very much COGAG would be selected if they were built now. The America Class powerplant seemed backward looking to me , IEP or CODLAG/CODLAD or IEP would seem to be the sensible choice for a large ship where a nuclear plant isn't an option..

Different kinds of ship propulsion. CO is Combined, G is Gas turbine, A is And, so COGAG (Combined Gas and Gas) is a setup with one lot of gas turbines for low speed and a big gearbox that lets a second set of gas turbines join in for full power. The L is there to say whether the drivetrain is 'lectric or mechanical. CODLAG is Combined Diesel-Electric and Gas - you have diesels through an electric drivetrain for efficiency and a GT that gets fired up for more power when you want it. The T23 frigates have this - 4 diesels and 2 GTs. CODLAD is the same idea but with two different diesel engine types rather than diesels and GTs.
If it has an O rather than an A it means the two sets of engines can't run at the same time. The first lot of T22 frigates were like that with R-R Tynes for cruise and Olympus for boost, later they got Speys rather than Tynes and COGAG rather than COGOG.
IEP is Integrated Electric Propulsion; whatever the prime movers, diesel, GT, nukes, they all generate electricity and put it into a miniature onboard grid, and propulsion is by electric motors that draw from the grid like everything else in the ship. T45 destroyers* and the carriers do this.
*notoriously it didn't work very well.

Steamchicken, thanks for that good explanation. Sycamore, apologies for not explaining, having had such acronyms first knocked into my head 40 odd years ago, it is easy to forget others haven't. That makes me old enough to remember COGAS - combined gas and steam. (I was essentially correcting ORAC's apparent misreading.)
The diesels on the T45s and QEs are I believe 4-stroke but not being a ex-stoker/ex-greenie I can't say more. I understand it was the intercoolers that caused the problems with T45
The thought in my head was that I don't think the Turks have ever built (war)ships with two sets of gas turbines combined with clutches/shared gearboxes, so if they are adopting new to them technology the leap to an IEP would seem sensible for such a biggish ship. It is going to need diesel generators to run the main systems and any future catapult is likely to be EMALS, unlike a CVN or like the pre-CVN fleet carriers it doesn't have an excess of steam (the Fords use steam turbines driven from the reactor for propulsion), so it is going to need hefty generators anyway, preferably ones that can burn a range of fuels plus maybe two gas Turbine generators like the QEs. Gas and/or Gas is IMO most suited to escorts as it gives high acceleration on tap, the Invincibles were effectively large escorts with flat decks with a principle ASW role where high acceleration and deceleration (allegedly they could stop in their own length) was at a premium as was the smaller space required by gas turbines. Using four identical GT engines in COGAG gives inherent redundancy and flexibility e.g. for cruising only one of each shaft pair is required, like Nimrod shutting down the outers for increased endurance but without the resultant increased drag, in her first year Invincible's outer engines were run for approximately twice the hours of the inners.
If she is effectively a copy of Vikrant, that may account for the choice of COGAG, however the proposed second/third Indian built carrier INS Vishal is expected to have a QE derived IEP and potentially EMALS .
