wrong music, should be STEVE STEVENS.
the widdle widdle hotshot who fretwanked all over TOPGUN.
Be interested to see who butchers the soundtrack for the upcoming TOPGUN 2.
by the way, is that the boat purchased with the intention of making a floating casino??

Quite "arty farty", but a pretty ship and a beautiful looking aeroplane. Play the sound track but lose the visuals of the singer and replace with shots of cats and traps. Some nice slomo even if not enough of the 'plane and too much of the "good, strong Chinese people".
It capabilities match looks, we could be in trouble if push came to shove, as they say.

Well well lets see what they can do when they carry out night / low vis / Crap wx / imc conditions Operations. IF they can!!!!!!!
US Navy
Case III
When it is anticipated that flights will encounter instrument conditions during a departure/recovery because the ceiling or visibility around the carrier are lower than 1,000 feet and 5 nmi respectively; or for night time departures/recoveries.
A minimum launch interval of 30 seconds is used between aircraft, which climb straight ahead. At 7 nmi, they turn to fly the 10-nmi arc until intercepting their assigned departure radial.
From winkipedia
Thay might make plush videos but can they fight at night in crap wx
and each AC and pilot making multiple missions...........No chance.

"...........No chance."
Yet !
Agree.
It might take them quite a few years but they will get there, eventually !
Not sure they will ever get as good as the US which has been and done it in combat.

The pilot seems to be experiencing a lot of vibration at 2:15 ... any FJ comment on that?

List of aircraft carriers in service - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Review this data.
If its correct the odd Chinese carrier is not an issue.
The USN have 19!!! in service and 4 more on the way. All manned by people who have done the job before with very capable aeroplanes and integerated Air wings. Additionally look at the ballance of Carries from the other countries in the region.
Pretty aeroplane and the bloke can sing ......... non event.

Great Leap Forward.
So it seems. Good for TV video promo I suppose - is this stuff really watched on Chinese TV then?
The points being made by the director seemed to me to be;
1. A young vibrant nation of eager young fit dedicated people.
2. Brand new gleaming materiel which we are proving to work/fly/sail.
3. This is something to be proud of.
I mean it is a fantastic leap in progress, I just hope they don't ever get the vision, money, confidence and wartime experience that made the USN what it is today.
Hardly feels fair to comment on the RNs shenanigans of the last ten years with its carrier and FW carry on.
Wonder what our video would be like to celebrate the float out of HMS QE shortly? What would the focus be on? If we weren't careful...it would look like...
1. A very old Queen/monarchy launching it who looks very old. Possible complacency?
2. Being built in a country shortly to be independent from the rest of the place its supposed to be defending?
3. Already known its not going to be operational any time soon.
4. With empty places where the crews who are supposed to be operating/flying it etc.
Getting the picture. Best our UK video isn't made just yet.

They have the vision, money and confidence already, with more confidence to be gained as they progress.
It's a bit like Japan pre WWII, except the Brit's aren't helping them !
Not being negative but I agree with one of the earlier posters,
don't under estimate China.
I thought I read on here in a previous discussion about a ballistic missile
China has that it's sole purpose is to hit Aircraft carriers from afar.

With this carrier, China now have the capability to project naval power, far away from its shores.
Surely, they could not fight the new Battle of Midway against the US but, anyway, is unlikely a carrier battle anyway in this days.

This is the only place the US could take on the Chinese in battle and expect some form of dominance. Good luck trying a land/air battle against the PLA, they'd win on attrition alone..

Could you provide a peak at the analysis that allowed you to arrive at your conclusion wrt a notional air conflict between the US and China?
