Harry, what is wrong with TU's question.

F/O's travel in business class....its great if we don't have to worry about that....but they do.....so what happens if there is no business class? Do you have the answer?

There's just no pleasing people at times. TU, you're beginning to sound like some of our typical passengers. Whatever you give them, they just want more.

Cross that bridge if and when you get to it, just be thankful that we are where we are with this, ok!

Harry
Wrong, Harry. I am pleased that there has been some clarification on the DH policy. It seems to be an improvement. Great. But as many missives are, out of the BC, they can create as many questions as they answer.

DHing in the US....most OALs do not have three class configurations. Having DHed on Lufthansa to and from LHR-FRA.....only economy and first. So what are we to expect. Simple question, really.

The problem with this email/change of procedure, is that it is written by those in the BC that only see the aviation world thru EK Rose Coloured glasses.

And while the captain is relaxing in the lounge the FO is stressing about in the terminal trying to get a seat and perhaps a sip of water, being asked by every first-time-no-speak-English-boarding card-waving pax where to find the gate.

Thread drift...

I believe the intention is good, of course if you are on a short haul sector with no business class at all, well whatb to do...?

Thumbs up

In which case then, comply with the FCI and contact the DSVO FO and SVP-F about what happened
The Cargo flights are problematic, in that we often fly to NON EK stations, and some minion books the tickets. Accepting that, just feedback what is happening to the FDM and get them to sort it, given the new policy. Hopefully the minions will have received the same info contained in the FCI.

Don't just come and whinge on here.

If it's 737's and the like, it ain't going to be a long flight. I'm sure even the most precious could manage an hour or two down the back. It's the long haul sectors that it becomes an issue, the KLM pairing being the catalyst for the reports and, I guess, subsequent change to policy. All long haul positioning that's currently done are on airlines with 3 class configurations. The shorter sectors will be down the back.

The Company isn't going to book a confirmed First seat, period. We don't even do that in our own Airline.

That's the point I'm trying to highlight. Why make an issue when one doesn't exist?

Can't a 737 fly 4/5 hrs each way these days? Doesn't that add up to 11.5hrs or more duty including turnaround, through the night? With two pilots, the imapct is greater than your 4 crew ULR trip.

And "an hour or two down the back"... great! ....... all respect Harry but you are a ****ing knob. Are you British as well because so often they seem to think exactly as you do, as do our managers.

Not sure where you're going with the duty time of a B737 crew, Harry was referring to EK positioning on shorter sector flights. As far as I'm aware, we do not do any 4/5 hour positioning flights....yet

You're fighting shadows.......

It appears ULR safety related reports are increasing on these three man ops.

Hopefully they wake up and understand its a safety issue and not a moan for the sake if it.
