Class 1 revalidations abroad
I am so confused about the issue on medical revalidation in a state different than the one that issued my licence. My CPL licence has been issued by a country in which I don't live anymore. I currently reside in Germany and would like to avoid to deal with the LBA due to the privacy laws that might prevent me from transfering my licence to another state should it be needed to work.
Then I have friends with Italian licences and medical revalidations done in Switzerland issued by the Swiss CAA and another one working with an Italian licence and Polish medical... How does it really work? I thought one would need to have both licence and medical from the same country at all times.

You do need to have a matching medical and licence but any EASA AME in any country can do your medical and indicate on the paperwork what your State of Licence issue is, and send the paperwork off to your SOLI National Aviation Authority.
Dunno whereabouts in Germany you are but if it is near DUS I may be able to help.
