You reap what you sew. Kharma. The NTSB are dropping like flies. And good riddance.

It's time for Captain Obvious

You do know that they love this stuff. No such thing as bad press. We have a real, as someone said, "Catch me if you can" type villain/hero. Remember, this kind of stuff sells papers and makes tv shows. I would even bet they will bail him out and keep him. They love people like him. He's not the only one he just is the most notorious. It's a dysfunction seeks dysfunction kind of thing.

Let this not be a distraction though for what is possibly coming.

... which will be that he is to become a future DFO. If he can survive his stint in jail, then he won't mind the possibility of another term in the future. Careful what you say on here.... there is internet in the HK jail system.

One of the first FO's to leave for ASL in 1996 for a freighter command. Works G and L days whether we are in CC or not, doesn't give a sh*t about anyone but himself.

Pulls pictures out in the flight deck of all his toys like his ranch in Arizona to show all the S/O's he is training who have to sit there and pretend to like him.

Walks away from his kids and defies court orders in three jurisdictions to pay what he owes.

Real pillar of the community, I hope they do sack him. The pilot body is better off without these selfish pricks.

Here's hoping this is not a general crackdown on dead beat dads or there'll be no one left on the third floor to define "schedule" and other complex matters.

so apparently there was more to the story after all!

Maybe he is on a recon mission for a previous DFO to see what the digs are like?

Jailed for contempt of court isn't a sweep under the carpet offence, he didn't steal gum from a 7/11. And according to some on here the law and judge are at fault because he's a CX pilot, who are apparently above the law........

Read the court documents available online and get the facts for yourself. This G/L day worker was divorced and refused to provide the court proof of his income. The court derived an income and issued a support order. Rather than pay, he fled the country and an arrest warrant in Canada (CX doesn't fly him to Canada) and lived in another pilot's spare bedroom until he was found. He fled that jurisdiction, moved to another state, bought himself a mansion and married his US girlfriend, gaining US residency. Found there, he told the court he was a Hong Kong resident. In Hong Kong, he told the court he was a US resident. He has been found in contempt of court in Arizona, as well, and faces sentencing there when released from HK prison.

He's played one system off another and spent hundreds of thousands of US dollars on lawyers but it has finally caught up with him.

My bet is that when he gets out, he stays in Hong Kong and changes his name to Hector Barbossa. CX fires the "old" guy and hires Hector, just like it did THREE times with another person supposedly hiding from his ex-wife.

Get the facts here: http://legalref.judiciary.gov.hk/lrs...se=JU&selall=0

Salt of the earth obviously. You've missed out the part where he pops out of the bunk and dangles his bollocks just at the correct head level for the guys (and gals) in the operating seat. All this whilst wearing one of the more flimsy thongs from the Toss Parker range. This of course in an attempt to demonstrate his superior physique. Narcissistic a&&e.

N T S B says it all. Cathay will take care of them regardless of what they did or have done.

In addition to hoodwinking the courts in HK and the USA for many years, it seems that he has also duped some patsies in the US union! A fund has been set up, and donations are being requested, in order to help the poor guy with basic daily prison-life necessities and better food, as well as to help his wife. This despite his bank accounts in HK being released on the day he went to prison (read the judgment) giving him and his wife access to all the salary that's been frozen in HK since 2013 or so (minus the USD 200,000 he siphoned off, which is why he's in prison.) Do the maths. Since basic remuneration of an STC is over USD 365,000 per year (remember, he is a G and L day worker, so he surely earned more than that) and since he was not paying a lawyer in HK (he was representing himself), there must be a fair bit of cash in those HK accounts. Yet donations are being requested? The cheap ba$tard even takes advantage of his colleagues, because, after all, he is fellow pilot.

And you felt you needed to comment exactly...why? You don't have to like the guy, but to kick someone when they are so down is just the lowest of the low. Hope you receive the same compassion when you are having a bad time in life. Btw, you have NO idea of all the issues involved. Focus on your own glass house.

I don't see any kicking. If you show compassion for someone who ran away from having to pay child support while buying a $1.5 million home in Arizona and stabbing his fellow pilots in the back by helping to found ASL and continuing to work every G day he can, all for the love of money, you are just as sick as he.

3Holer. I will say this again for you..this time s-l-o-w-l-y. You do not know ALL the facts. Perhaps you might want to ask yourself why, after all the drama and bad publicity, CX has kept him employed? Could it be that the company IS in possession of ALL the facts, and that changes the dynamic? Again, you seem to revel in kicking someone when they are down, so keep putting the boot in. I think it says more about you that it does about him.

Read the "facts" using the links on P 31. Not sure how many more 'facts' you want. He tried to be a smarta*se playing fast and loose within several different jurisdictions and was found out.
Only reason Cathay doesn't get rid of him is that they recognise one of their own and can 'bend the rules' as they see fit - especially when anticipating a critical pilot shortage.
Sounds like a nasty piece of work who got his comeuppance. As I said before, rather sad but you have to pay your dues and move on. Trying to be clever has cost him far more than doing the right thing in the first place.

How anyone can defend him, I don't know.
He is a criminal. End of story. He got what he deserves.
