To those jet jockeys...

I am inbound and am requested by ATC to hold at a position before my TOD. On completion of holding do I accelerate from holding speed to original cruise speed, or maintain Vimd, or Long Range Cruise?

What do you really do in that situation?

Thanks

Original cruise speed (Probably 'econ') unless instructed otherwise by ATC, and if in doubt then ask.

AIP Australia ENR 1.1-20

10.5 When leaving an en route holding pattern, jet aircraft must maintain 250KT, unless otherwise advised by ATC.

Don't know if this is common or not. :)

Accelerate to the "red bricks" to make up the time you just lost holding.

If they don't like it they'll tell you!
