Hi,

Does anyone know where I could get an adpater that would allow my GPS with car cigarrette power lead to connect to an XLR socket in aircraft?

Cheers

It sounds thoroughly make-able, assuming the power supply is able to supply sufficient current. What aircraft is it, and what is the original purpose of the socket?

Sennheiser XLR Cigarette Lighter Adapter - Marv Golden Pilot Supplies (http://www.marvgolden.com/sennheiser-xlr-cigarette-lighter-adapter.html)

This is the other way around, but I've good experiences with Marv Golden - worth dropping them a line to see if they have what you need.

Is there a standard pinout for XLR connectors used as power output connectors in aircraft?

It's not a bad connector for that job, but I am suprised to hear of this.
