Neither the 1:500k nor the 1:250k for the area have the new Manch LLR details on them. The new boundaries etc only came into effect on 8th March and the charts were published on 5-5-11 (1:500k Sheet Edition 34) and June 2011 (for the two 1:250ks covering the area).

The next edition of the 1:500k is published on 3rd May. You won't get new editions of the 1:250k till May 2013. Details here (http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php%3Foption=com_nats_vfr&Itemid=368.html)

Interesting, I hadn't realised it was moved. Flew through on Sunday for the first time, using the chart from the AIP (AD 2-EGCC-4-1) and carefully cross checking against the GPS.

I have to be honest: this kind of flying isn't for me - my passenger wasn't happy about the turbulence, I was nervous about our chances should the engine go - and we passed rather close to a PA28 coming the other way... Was very glad to climb up again afterwards.

What are my chances of getting a VFR clearance across liverpool next time?

Never known them to refuse...they are very accommodating,

It hasn't moved just made a bit bigger and a hight increase to 1300 ft MCR QNH.

Isn't there some sort of amendment service for the CAA charts?

Jeppessen has a section on their website describing all the changes to the VFR+GPS chart set. If you diligently (and I know it's a big IF) apply all the changes listed there, you should always have an up to date chart. To the point where you should even not need to buy a new one every year. (Although that's probably the easiest anyway.)

Just to correct my last,

They haven't made it bigger or wider just added 50ft on the max hight and altered MCH control zone at either end.
