Some A330 powered with RR engines contain this procedure as power plant supplementary technique.

A330s that doesn't have this supplementary technique means that, like A320 series, they cannot start engines on batteries?

Does anyone know the reason?

my A330 MEL/MMEL doesn't report any limitation on engine start if apu gen and gcu are not available...

on my previous airline i had engine start on batteries procedure in the supplementary techniques, in my actual i don't have it...so?

ok, but how was the procedure?

you just selected ign/start and master on and waited until the generator came on line?

manual start for LH engine (since x-bleed doesn't open automatically on batteries)

follow ecam procedure to recover epr mode

start RH engine with automatic start

so?

I see it is possible to star the engine, and i believe there is a procedure, but howd does the crew monitor the progress of the start up? or the FADEC just takes care of it?

the fadec should be self powered...but i don't understand why it looks possible to do it with some engines types, and there is no indication if possible or not for the other types...
