Is it just me, or is there less discussion than usual?

Perhaps it is the holiday season, or people worrying about their jobs or business but I dont recall this forum being so quiet in a long time?

I have found it quite difficult to access the BB, so have posted topics on Flyer instead. Is the system likely to be stable now?

Speaking of quiet, what happened to Stermone the mooney dude ? (mooney as in aircraft, not as in religious cult)

I think the bad weather has sent everybody to collect their Prozac prescriptions, and they are suffering the side effects (http://www.clinical-depression.co.uk/Treating_Depression/side_effects.html)....

Dry mouth

Urinary retention

Blurred vision

Constipation
Sedation (can interfere with instrument flight)

Sleep disruption

Weight gain (affects W&B)

Headache

Nausea

Gastrointestinal disturbance/diarrhea (a big problem when airborne)

Abdominal pain

Inability to achieve an erection (Class A base @ 2500ft, so a non issue)

Inability to achieve an orgasm (men and women) - as above

Loss of libido

Agitation

AnxietyNo wonder people have problems loggin' on.

Perhaps people are just getting bored of the same old questions?

OK let's try this:

I like to fly when I'm pissed!

There's a lot of things I like to do when I'm pissed and luckily I can't manage them.

Hardly suprising it's so quiet when you can't even have a chat about your return to private flying in the Private Flying forum. :rolleyes:

See this locked link (http://www.pprune.org/forums/private-flying/335534-quick-hello-again.html)

I blame the credit crunch and the bad weather is all Gordon Brown's fault, let's start a revolution:ok:

Does anyone know if Oban is open..will that do? 5000 posts to go, get ready for the long haul.

Jet Blast has a fair bit of traffic. Less chance of having Threads locked and Posts chopped there, as well.

I too was a bit puzzled by the apparently amiable and inoffensive thread that got closed.
Love the dog tag.

What dog tag?:E

Me too so far as the closed thread was concerned. Seemed a good way to say a permanent goodbye to someone who was just trying to say hello!

DO.

I think a lot of interesting posts are/were from students or low hrs pilots either asking for info or just sharing joy,fear,worries,etc
eg Mazzys 0-45 hrs was brilliant.
Maybe in the current financial crisis there are less people learning to fly?

IMHO it was wrong to lock that thread. I could not see anything wrong with that friendly post.

Facebook is for plonkers :)

I think I'll send a PM to the OP of the closed thread and ask him to start it again.
Then we can all post positive replies before the bullies get in. Power to the people! Vive la Revoltion!!

Lister said,

Maybe in the current financial crisis there are less people learning to fly?

Also less people able to keep flying too...me one of them...:{

Visiting the forum sometimes makes me feel like a starving kid peering through the chip shop window.

Locking that thread does seem a bit odd, can't see the sense in it myself.

Well, I can't comment on why the thread was locked as it wasn't me who locked it and you all know I do welcome newbies to the forum with open arms!

In fairness though the guy did say this; no real point to this thread

and;

Apologies for the useless thread, but I promise to contribute something shortly! :}

As for the forum being quiet it traditionally goes quiet during the summer flying season, people being away and out flying etc so it was no real surprise to me to see the post counts down although I was surprised at how much they were down.

I can only put this down to the recent unannounced downtime from the servers resulting in many people unable to log-in for long periods of time. Also the dreaded 'Database' error has raised it's head a few times far too much for my liking recently too. People get fed up, myself included and the other mods and admins here too.

I don't like seeing the site down, it drives people away and that has been seriously annoying me as we (all of us) have built this forum up over the years only to see people keeping away because of the unannounced site 'downtime'. I have been assured though that the reasons for the site being down have been dealt with (human error) and things should improve and I can say though they have been improving too over the last couple of weeks. :)

Fly safe guys and have a fantastic flying season wherever you are. :)

You just need to read Birds and Aeros to find out why all is quiet. Everyone has run out of anything interesting to say.
