Captain Richard (Dick) Norriss

It is with great sadness that I learned that Dick died this morning after a relatively short battle with cancer.

Following his RAF career Dick joined BA until retiring in November 2005. He then joined Emirates and eventually became Flight Training Manager B777. When he left Emirates he joined Boeing Flight Services as a contracting instructor at their Crawley training centre. He eventually joined the staff at Boeing as Flight Training Manager/CFI until leaving to concentrate on a housing project but he continued at Boeing as a contract instructor.

He became ill late summer last year.

Anybody who knew Dick will know what great company he was with a keen sense of humour. He was also an outstanding instructor and examiner.

His funeral will be a private affair due to the current restrictions.

If anybody would like contact details for his wife, Elaine, and daughter, Lauren, then please contact me via the forum message service.

Very very sad news. Dick was an absolute gent and a brilliant instructor.
Our thoughts are with his family at this horrid time.

RIP Dick.
A great manager, and from all reports, a a good intructor who believed in Training and not checking.

RIP Dick, That came as a shock this morning. We certainly had some good trips and times together over the years.

Not that I remember. Didn't play with me through OT at Cranwell.

Angry Heartfelt Condolences

Dick and I shared accommodation in Effingham during his Newcastle/RAF Training days and much fun during party days in Whitley Bay. Unfortunately we lost touch (though I did once manage to track him down) - so it is with great sadness that I hear of his passing (he always called me a "Welsh Warlock" and it's only today I randomly decided to search for news of him)
