What extraordinary phraseology!
'Passed away' is silly enough, but just passed?
I take it she died then?
Why not just say so?
And with the greatest of respect, there is no need to publicly send condolences to anyone, let alone everyone, nor to bid me and the rest of the readership RIP as you have done, besides which "RIP" is an utterly inappropriate thing to say, write or frankly use in any circumstance unless it is inscribed on a gravestone or a formal obituary notice..It is most certainly never to be used in the conversational way you have done.
If you actually know the people involved by all means express your feelings - to them, privately. But if, as one suspects, they are complete strangers it is utterly inappropriate, mawkish and self-indulgent to write such cheesy things in such a general manner.

Just saying...

Utterly Bad Taste.

Perhaps we could have a thread on pilots and flight crew who have died of Corona rather than this?

The right place for this is on the "Where are they now?" thread.

Meleagerto ; What a miserable, heartless, insensitive little fella you portrait yourself to be . BD is widely known in the Aviation Community. Loss of life of his "ex-wife" might be of interest to those who knew them both. Unclenelli's post is a bit misplaced but probably well meant. Not really deserving of vitriolic outburst .

Thanks! You're exactly right. Bruce is a famous AVIATOR.
Sorry if it was misplaced, but it was breaking news & Bruce is still with us living in France.

Not only a famous aviator, but a nice guy. We flew together when he was right-seating the 737. Oh, and not a bad musician or fencer either.

I can see that manners and etiquette are quite foreign to you as you have so vividly demonstrated. That's thoroughly unpleasant.
I made no comment or reference to BD whatsoever so your nasty (vitriolic) remarks are as utterly inappropriate and irrational as they are hypocritical.
I'm sorry if you think my comments were 'a bit misplaced' but they were entirely well meant and long overdue to try to correct the horrendously mawkish, awkward and cheesy way such events are worded here. Is that so wrong?

Yes, Herod, a thoroughly nice guy. And, yes, he is a good aviator too with almost excess enthusiasm.
I happen to know him quite well, having done a lot of light aircraft flying with him, kept his licence valid and still share an aircraft with him.
Although he and Paddy had split up, he will still be very affected and upset. He had another side to being an arrogant popstar.
