Hiya Tom Smude (Smudge) is alive and well. Living in Swindon and walking weekly with Tucker Thompson and our wives. Mick Libby has survived a heart attack on the golf course, major surgery and I believe is still smoking. I have a photograph of you, Dave Gingell and myself in a jackoosi in Malaysia, I will post it for you when I can get it scanned. Hope you are well and still using the Grecian 2000. Do you remember making me do the valve housing change at Gander because “Toms a sumpie and doesn’t need the practice” ? . Great times.
Tucker has registered with PPRuNe but is struggling to post for some reason

Hi Smudge, Sorry to hear you have been unwell, hope the next op is good. Nice photo, lost a bit of top cover, but haven't we all. Tucker looks well, I did my last trip to Oman with him.
Mick Libby can be a daft so and so, his Father died on a golf course with a heart attack. You still playing golf, with yellow balls as you could not see white ones?
Yes it was El Centro, and you came second in the wrestling match.
Nice to hear from you being a GE can be bad for your health, I have heart problems as well, but the pace maker keeps me ticking along. Hair still white but losing it slowly.
All the best Tom

Hi Tom
Good to hear your alive & well.
Smudge has told you about our weekly walks & pub lunches which we have enjoyed for the past 6 years. He played his last game of golf with me in Australia prior to him sustaining a back injury jurying the work up to the Gulf war. I remember well the trip we did to Oman, we waited ages for a member of shaky boat to arrive on the strip for us to casevac out. He arrived in a vehicle doing about 2mph due to his bad back. I later bumped into one of his colleagues who said he made a full recovery. Mac Mc Kenzie was our eng who managed to break one of the quads frames that shaky boat were trialling. Mick Libby is still a member of the old Lyneham Golf society, now Hercules Golf Society at Bze. I still play golf with him on society days. I see Pete Scott the loady a lot up at Wrag Barn.
Best wishes.
Tucker

All understood Tom. I reckon I have more hair now, it’s just my head has grown through it further. I think Tucker will be contacting you soon as he seems to have found out how to make PPRuNe work.
stay well mate. I will post that picture I promised when I can find it.

Golden Sands Hotel

A three ship trip to Penang to recover a Tornado Det. Tornado goes tits so we get a couple of days at Golden Sands, the sister hotel to the one in Penang that we usually stayed in.

I don’t think I have any more shots of GEs Tom. They should bring back a few memories though. Do you use Facebook Tom ? I ask because there’s a C130 GE thread on there. Many current and ancient members. I can send you a link, I think.

Hi Tucker, good to hear from you, glad to hear your all well. Bet Mick Libby is still the best dressed man and the life and soul of any group your in. Nice to hear Pete Scott is going strong. Next time you see him pass on my regards please. If he has't already ask him about his rabies scare when a dog bit him in Scilliy.
Look after your selves all the best.

If I may be so bold.... Since I don't recall seeing Smujsmith's moniker on the Military forum for some time, and always enjoyed reading his posts, despite being of a darker shade of blue, I hope that I'm allowed to say that I'm pleased to see that he has resurfaced - and that his "friends" clearly have no difficulty in remembering in reviving the tales of yore!

Hey up Jack,
I'm sure we have met before but struggle to remember when or where. Whatever, hope you are well and happy. Pleased to note that my wife’s nephew, Commander Adam Clarke RN, has recently received the award of his MBE (My Bloody Effort) from HRH Prince William at Buck house. I managed a double tot for the occasion.
