Is he still grumpy? I had the pleasure of working with him at BA and easyJet and while first impressions suggest a grumpy type actually a nice guy with a dry sense of humour.

OK. Well he was a junior pilot just arrived and we were doing a 4ship attack on Lahr as part of their Taceval! It was decided Paul would go down in the back of the T bird and if the weather improved at base then he would fly the single seat back to base! All went well, we landed at Lahr! The weather at base did not improve so it was decided I would bring the single seater back! Took off as number two and lost the starboard engine on takeoff. To put it bluntly even after jettisoning all stores it still flew like a brick! Eventually left it via Martin Baker letdown! I realised it was approaching the 41st anniversary so thought that it was time he bought me a beer for me doing his MB letdown!

Thumbs up

Hi Newt,I was on the same course as Paul at BFTS and then again at Valley. He appeared a bit dour but was good friend and went on ahead of me at Brawdy and Lossiemouth. The last time I saw you was in Johnny Rockets in BKK with a beer in hand. Good days.
