Bob would have been totally overwhelmed with all the attention from the many of his friends, colleagues and family that went to the funeral today.

As Helen said in her Address, the family had received many cards all starting with "words cannot describe..." and that is exactly how I feel.

Such a tragic loss and my thoughts go to all the family especially Helen and the girls.

I'll always remember you mate, see you on the otherside.

I'm a little late to this sad news but wanted to share my thoughts on this wonderfully kind and professional man. Bob was my PPL(A) examiner back in 2002 and my abiding memory of him was how very kind he was to me. He immediately put me at ease and kept me there throughout the test. Bob was very tall and I am 6ft 1in and will never forget how impressed I was that we managed to fold ourselves successfully into a tiny C152 .

He later helped me train and achieve my night rating...again with his relaxed but extremely professional manner. I remember him pointing out the Orion constellation and others to me after we'd landed and parked up at the old EFG site. I'm a keen stargazer to this day.

Thanks Bob. A lovely chap. A very sad loss. My thoughts go to his friends and family. Smooth skies.
