Unfortunately it looks like Alan Bonnick, the Flight Engineer from the 747-200 DVD, passed away last month: Alan Bonnick : Obituary - Announcements - Worthing Herald Group (Worthing)

Does anyone know where he went after Virgin Atlantic retired their 747-200s, or did he retire?

Facepprune is what is displayed if you put the word Face.b.o.o.k into a post. It's Danny's small victory over the FB brigade!

Several of these videos were influential to me in my early training. I loved both the Debonair 146 and Go 733 videos. Last I heard Nick Stein was flying the A319/20 for Easy out of Liverpool and Kevin (Debonair 146 FO) was flying the 757 for a charter operator out of LGW. Both demonstrated true airmanship in the switch/knob-heavy 146 - something somewhat rare today given our dependence on automated glass cockpits. The Debonair video, like the GO 733 video, was great fun to watch back then.

It is a shame that ITVV don't make newer videos using their unique camera set-up these days. The videos from WAR and others simply can't compare from a filming format perspective (ie pilots speaking directly into the camera and leading the audience during flight). Still don't understand why ITVV can't just use the same format and film airlines outside of Europe if needed. WAR films airlines all over the world - why can't ITVV? I know ITVV videos were entertaining and helpful in my training, would be nice to see more in the future using its unique filming set-up.

John Cullom

New John in1997 when he was a B757 F/O in Sunways Sweden. Likeable chap and the girls loved him. I was based in Antalya with him that summer before they went bust in October a month after I left to join SQ.
