Brian was OC Queen's University Air Squadron in early-70s. He was also a Victor captain. Anyone know where he is now?

Check your PMs again! I apolgise for accusing you of spelling his name wrong, I misread your post. The gentleman is retired, since 1990, born in 1935 so may still be alive and I have sent you details of how to contact him, indirectly, thru Innsworth

Thanks for info, Nick. I am trying to track Brian for another former colleague, Robert (Paddy) Aiken. He was hoping for "direct" contact, rather than thru' MoD. But, thanks for your help.

Incidentally, I am in regular contact with the co-pilot of the Victor which landed at Wittering with the brake chute deployed - and the "detachable" nose broke off. Brian was the captain.

Hi ATH100,

I am Brians son. He has been living in Cyprus since he retired.
I remember Paddy Aiken, has he still got the mutton chop sideburns and handle bar moustache?

If you would like to PM me any details I will pass them on to my dad.

Regards,

Kevin B. Leefarr

Hello Kevin having recently returned from spending a few days with my Mum she asked me if I could find anything about your dad. My mother.......Peggy Hearn knew Brian at Basingbourn she was married to Warrant Officer in accounts Nick/Norman Hearn & remembers you as a small child. She just wishes to know if Brian is still alive. Regards Joanna

Hi Joanna,

I just popped on to find out if ATH100 (Alan Taylor) was still active as I received a suspicious email from him or someone purporting to be him, stuck in Ukraine and had all of his effects stolen and no way to pay for the hotel.
Having checked the return address it was a hotmail one, so I have emailed Alan on his usual email address to warn him. Hopefully he will get it.
If anyone is in contact with Alan, assuming he is still alive, could they let him know please.

With regard to dad, unfortunately he died 20 June 2011 from Pancreatic Cancer. This was 11 days after mum died from the effects of Alzheimer’s. Not a great year and both very sadly missed.

They are both buried in Dhekelia Military Cemetery in Cyprus.

PS. I have now subscribed to the thread and will get notification of any replies.

Regards to you and your mum.
