amazing stuff - never used this before - but at our age computers are still a bit of a mystery (unless you're JKF)
Anyway rumours are correct as to where I am now - back sitting on a bit of ice with the penguins awaiting a fair uphill breeze to carry me 2000 miles across the southern ocean back to Tasmania - about as interesting as Norwich-Stavanger in a Heron at midwinter! Hopefully developments will allow me to return to making the crossing at higher levels next year!
Living in Bowral, NSW, Australia if anybody is ever passing that way...

Danger Rhys/Bloggs

Well - Blimey. Greetings from Singapore - Is it really 25 or more years since Rhys was playing with a wind up snoppy on the bar at Rothera (or was that Morgan?) Some hangover that - Bloggs/Rhys nice to see all is well. Im playing building ships here in Singapore/China and still into comms/nav aids and occasional right hand seat antics. "L and Ks" as Bloggs used to sign.

In the mid 70's I used to walk past Fairflight daily to the public lavatories where the graffiti read "Using this toilet within 8 hours of a meat vindaloo constitutes a breach of airfield safety regulations" and "Beware of scatter fragments from next bay".

Wow.....don't those years just fly by....Anyone know where dear old Eddie Asquith is these days? I must say I had a great time instructing at BH (Air Touring Services) never been back but can't help reminiscing.

Remember poor old John Bishop

Another ex-Fairflight chappie

Hi, Ian Hovey here...ex-Fairflight ground engineer. Left suddenly in September 1981 after an argument with the Chief Engineer who accused me of something I didn't do!...anyway, progressed from there to Rolls Royce, Derby, then 3 years at Thumrait, Oman with Airworks! SOAF Jaguars - yes, those low flying chaps!
Came home to the UK in '85 went back to school to learn Electronics. Since then, been a Technical Author for the last 22 years. Worked in Naval Electronics, Nuclear Power Stations, Satellite Communications, even a stint with Marshalls Areospace in Cambridge on C130's, E3-D's (AWACS) and Tristars (RAF Tanker/Passenger).

Currently have my own business - Hovetech Ltd contracting out Tech Authors.

I remember donating my 'Talking Hat' to Keith for his Stampe, his Ferrari being written off and Neil Pen being splattered by an egg banjo during a break around at the cafe!

What ever happened to Bill Sandhu?

Hi everyone

Hi Ian,

Got a message from PeterDenton-Tervitt re this web site and that you were looking for me.
At Fairflight from 75 to 83. Went off to the Carribbean for 5 years. Back in 1988. At CSE Aviation, Oxford Airport as Quality Manager till 2004. Now at McAlpine Helicopters Ltd. (still at Oxford Airport.
It was nice to read all the other threads - a lot of the names are people I worked with (and that includes the pilots). Brings back fond memories.
Steve Lewis has left the aviation world and is now semi retired.

Will keep a watch out on this site now.

Mister Sandhu

Hi Bill,

Glad you are OK, nice to see you're still in the business. Haven't 'worked' on aeroplanes since 1985...too busy writing manuals now and playing in a rock band. I live in Weeting - Norfolk, some 5 miles from RAF Lakenheath, and 12 miles from RAF MIldenhall, so still see my share of F-15s and KC135s. Went back to Biggin a few years ago...seems deserted around the old hangar now, but the Airport has built up somewhat. Keep in touch.

Hi Everyone

Hi,
Les Sanger gave me a job working in the hangar in 1975 on a starting pay of 28 a week. I have lots of memories of the place, some bad but most really good. Its hard to believe 21 years have passed since I was last there. I left in 1986 and went on to work for Hants and Sussex aviation at Blindley Heath.
Was married for 23 years but now divorced. Have 2 kids, Alison 21 who has just left Uni and Richard 16 who left school this year.
Its good to see some old familar names on this site. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Mike Coppen, John Diaz and Rod Inskip?

Hi Bill, good to see you on here. Hi John I remember you in ops. Looking a little older now on your website, but then we all are.

If anyone remembers me please get in touch.
