How's Barksdale? I am assuming that is where you are based. Been several decades since I had to land at Barksdale instead of home base (Offutt).

You could certainly say that Barksdale has a little less "sac" than it once did! LOL (just kidding!)

The base is pretty nice, the wing is OK, and my squadron is great.

What are you doing these days? Flying for AA?

It is mainly safety oriented despite the name.
Some of the regulars have a member site displaying real names and even a photo. That says a lot for integrity.

Thanks for the update on Barksdale. Haven't over in Louisiana for a long time, especially northern part even though I-20 runs direct from Dallas to SHV.

No, I don't work for AA. I am just a passenger flyer - although I do around 100,000 air miles per year with them. That's equal to more than 100 legs (segments as AA calls them) per year on the average.

The "SLF" in my Pprune handle stands for "Self Loading Freight" which is a "term" you will see on Pprune from time to time meaning "passengers" (pax). I use this handle on all of the aviation bbs that I subscribe to since I think the term "slf" is very "cute" and most USA aviation bbs won't know what it means.

I was a member of "Looking Glass" crew for 2-1/2 years back in the early '60s. Doubt if you know what Looking Glass was since it has been transferred to the Navy some years ago. But, it was in SAC for over 20 years with a 100% OTTO record of three flights per day 24x7x365!

Good Luck on the BUFF and have you ever read any of the Dale Brown paperback books on the "Old Dog"? Very cool to my way of thinking for a buff driver to read.

May the number of your landings always equal the number of takeoffs. :)

Cameron, I spent a couple of years at KBAD also, when the -10's were still there.

Have a margarita for me at the Superior Bar & Grill. In my opinion, the margaritas there are the best in the world.
