Meigs Field?
I've been lucky enough to be gifted a free trip to Chicago with my dad in the summer, and the first thing that occurred to me, apart from thanking my dad for his generosity was whether Meigs Field is still operating?
Meigs (sp.?) looks so cool on MS Flight Sim. Just hope it's not another victim of Usama and friends.
If the answer is yes, is there any facility that would rent me a Cherokee/Cessna/etc, if no, can anyone recommend an alternative in the Chicago locale?

PS was very sorry to hear about the tragic events in the nightclub - just read about it on the BBC News website.

Yes, still open, and will remain so for sometime, perhaps a long time...in spite of the Chicago mayors' disdain for general aviation.
