J1 Granting a CPL

Hi all,

I already hold a Canadian CPL and want to convert to FAA, do a CFi, IR, and then CFII. I am a British Citizen and have been told by FTO's that I cannot get a J1 Visa because I hold more than a PPL. I`m gonna be spending more hard earned cash doing this than I would simply doing the FAA commercial - where's the sense in this? does anybody know a way round this or loophole? Obviously I only want the J1 so at least I have an opportunity to look for work following the training as an instructor. Have written to the consulate and FTOs and they keep passing the buck - ?? Any ideas please?

Cheers

J-1 application ref: CPL

Decimal :- Sounds like you are bouncing off the walls. Don't give up trying.

It seems that after 9/11 it is impossible to get into the US, and they are not trying to help us, who want to get in and utilise good training facilities.

Is there no way you can get a sponsership deal with some one, I am sure i read something about that recently?

Don't lose focus
