Given the current pilot shortage, which airlines in the USA are hiring based on total time and have no requirement for nationality, just possession of a FAA license?
Also would it be a good idea for a British person to go out there?

I can't think of any but perhaps I've overlooked something. My understanding is that person needs the legal ability to live/work in the USA. That means a green card or some kind of visa.

The EB2 visa is required. The conditions are a license and certain years of work amongst a few other things. However, some airlines are not willing to process this but I wonder if some would be given the shortage.

k.swiss,
I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking if they took expats without any visa.
Try Spirit. I think they've taken some visa holders in addition to the E3s. Good luck.
