A question for United pilots
Do you guys and girls get to do observation flights before converting to a new type or before initial training?
Incase you do, do you get paid for these flights?

I also believe new hires are required to do 2(??) observation legs. I think that is after initial equipment training is complete but I'm less certain of that. Those are the only mandatory observation trips that I'm aware of.

Texting a new hire right now. Four observation j/s rides at AA . Two mid training in sims between sim week 1 and sim week 2 of training and two j/s rides after training is complete but before IOE/LOE flying starts. That's what he thinks the timeline is.
