Hi all,
I am going on my hols to Florida in January'16.Would it be worth my while to gain a FAA Instrument Rating.Would it be cost effective to somehow convert for use in EASA land.I shall have a letter of Authenticity, verification for the local FSDO in Orlando, thanks for any advice, cheers,

I've heard that converting an IR FAA to IR EASA isn't that much of a big deal anymore. It is called "competency based IR check" but I believe one must have logged 50 hr PIC after the instrument check-ride. But I'm not quite sure about this hour requirement, you might want to get this cleared with the CAA or a flight school. Or perhaps there is someone here on the forum who can shed some light on this.
