Labor Union Chutzpah

Boeing was notified Monday that the International Association of Machinists (IAM) union has petitioned the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) requesting to hold an election to represent all production and maintenance employees at the main North Charleston, S.C., site and the Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina. The petition does not include the new Propulsion South Carolina facility.
If the NLRB permits it, a vote will be scheduled for eligible teammates to decide whether they will turn over their rights to the IAM or keep a direct relationship with the company.

This is the same union that stated flatly that the backwards folks in South Carolina could never gain the skills needed to safely produce a Boeing jet, and the same union that petitioned the NLRB to kill Boeing's entire South Carolina operation and were successful in delaying it. And now they claim to want to represent the interests of the folks they tried mightily to keep from having a Boeing job in the first place.

chutzpah: 1. unmitigated effrontery or impudence; gall. 2. audacity; nerve.

How about trying to get the folks in SC better pay and work rules while increasing the union's bargaining power?
