There are a couple Widgeon and Twin Bee schools in Florida but they are flying boats. The only MES school I know of that that uses a float plane is Sheble in Arizona. They have a Twin Beech on floats.

The US FAA does not distinguish between floats and hulls as far as pilot certifications. A multi-engine seaplane is a multi-engine seaplane.

As I understand it, seaplanes with floats are typically limited to about 1 foot sea state whereas seaplanes that use floating hulls can often use higher sea states (I was thinking of the G21G Goose). Can anyone recommend any seaplane training organization that uses hull-seaplanes in open seas for training?
