S-Loc Notam

I am sure this question has been asked before but nothing found in search.

In the US on a number of occassions a notam is posted with a notation
S-Loc then normally followed by an MDA. What does S-Loc mean? No other country appears to use that abbreviation. Could somebody please explain it or point me to the literature that provides the answer.

Thanks 160.

Do you have an example? While the FAA NOTAM codes page only lists "south" for an S, since you say there's a MDA following, I'd say the straight in minimums for a localizer approach have been changed.

Post There's an "app" for that...

If you have an iPhone there's a great app for decoding NOTAMs.

Here's an example of what you are asking about. The "S-LOC" refers to the straight in approach using a localizer only (minus glideslope).

ILS OR LOC RWY 20R, AMDT 9 ...
