Anybody know whats invovled when transfering a a/c type from a U.K ATPL to a U.S ATR, in my case a B737.

Brief type course and type rating ride, can be done in a level "D" sim. Suggest you contact Delta, they have (or had) a rather large contract training business. Another possibility, AmericaWest in PHX.
