Question UA to come downunder for pilots?

is there any truth to the rumour that United will be comming to Australia to look for possible pilots??? I don't think this is likely but does anyone know the truth?

Considering the number of resumes that United has from qualified pilots and having some of the lowest pilot requirements in the industry, I do not believe that United AL would do that. Also considering the ownership with is a majority of the employee groups, it is unlikely.

Last I heard UA has at least 7000 resumes on file at all times. With that they could replace 3/4 of their pilots.

Last I heard UAL had over 10000 resumes on file.

I read a story the other day by a guy who started work for them last year and two of the guys in his ground school were ex space shuttle pilots. I don't think United are hurting too bad just yet.

I have heard that they are hiring Canadians but that is a whole other story.
