I am from N. California, but know that these areas are some of the most expensive in California. Try a "search" for newspapers in those areas, and then check out the classifieds. This should give you a good idea. I.E. search: newspaper Burbank (or Van Nuys); newspaper Santa Ana (or Orange County). You could also just try the LA Times newspaper.

It's gonna cost you. In my area (west LA, near Santa Monica a 2 bedroom apartment is typically US$1500/month + utilities. Sometimes I miss the cheap rent in the "city" I was living in before--then I remember that I had to live there in order to get that rent. It's probably a bit cheaper in those areas.
