Here are some local schools, which you may already know about:
KSAT - San Antonio Intl.
Wright Flyers Aviation 001-210-820-3800 001-210-824-4305 (fax)
KSSF - Stinson Municipal
Stinson Air Center 001-210-924-6634 001-210-924-6636 (fax)
Check Six Aviation 001-210-932-4359 001-210-932-9280 (fax)
San Antonio Aviation 001-210-922-1203 001-210-922-1228 (fax)
I do not have any personal knowledge regarding these businesses. I obtained these listings from a directory.
I can give you the name of a good school in Richmond, Virginia, which is a lot closer to the UK as far as air fares go. It is Dominion Aviation 001-804-271-7793. The General Manager is a good friend of mine. His name is Mr. Ray Anthony. Tell him Stu in Italy referred you.
I hope this helps, good luck.

Stopped in the Wright Flyers office a couple of months ago.
Looked like a clean operation with several types to choose from. Talked with the owner for a while. Does not seem to be a scam place.
Their director of training is a retired UAL 744 Capt, a really nice fellow. They also have a really new sim for Instrument training.
Other than that I hve no experience in doing business with them. Their prices where quite comparable with other schools in the area and lot cheaper than schools around big California cities.
