M1 and typerating

I will like to know if i require an M1 visa to get a type rating in the US/

Secondly, can i use my present M1 visa to get a type rating or i have to transfer the visa to where i am doing the typerating?

Speak with the personnel administrator at the school you are currently at if you would need a transfer. Are you at FSA ?
