Interview Prep for SWA

What is your opinion/recommendation about interview preps for SWA? I hear both ways on this issue, some people say not to do it because they can tell canned answers, others say without it you won't make it.
What do you think?

If you are who I think you are, SWA would be extremely foolish not to hire you.

Dealing with this issue on another front. My guess is they can tell the canned answers. Prep can only be a reactive process, ie tell you want they want to hear based on what the prep people think SWA want to hear. Problem is if prep has it right the SWA side is going to hear lots of it.
If you have the numbers on paper what it comes down to is do they like you?

Can you prep for that?

Good luck. Never met a SWA pilot who bitched about his job.

I'm personal friends with an FO(soon to be Captain) who flies for SWA, and from what he says, you simply just need to be in a relaxed frame of mind during the inteviewing process, but still alert enough to prove that you know what you're talking about. Hope that makes a little bit of sense. Their whole culture is simply something to be admired.

Just migrating away from the subject, are you from Dominica or the Dominican Republic? Reason I'm asking is because I'm from Dominica myself but also in the US at the moment. Anyway, all the best!!!!

I'm from the DR, But your brother Islander nonetheless, I'm inclined as to just showing up without too much unnecessary pressure on myself and just enjoy the experience. Will see how it goes.

Thanks Ike, for your kind words

The above responses are all naive. Interviewing is an art form. Some people are born good at it and others need to practice, practice, practice to be good at it. Which one are you? Do you know? That is where good interveiw prep comes in. Notice I said, "good interview prep". Interview prep should not be about giving canned answers. It should be about teaching you how to answer questions properly and think on your feet. There are some good prep services out there. The two that I know of are:

Emerald Coast
and

A Write Resume

Think about it this way. You are attempting to get a job that will pay you millions of dollars over your career. Do you really want to just "enjoy the experience", or do you want to be prepared and successful?
