FM,

Sorry I don't know anything useful about them other than having heard of them. I just couldn't resist answering your post because of the screen name. You see, I left my job of ten years as an A&P mechanic to fly jet charter about 5 1/2 years ago. Do you have an arrangement to fly 737s with someone or are you getting the rating first?

Best regards,

Westhawk

Hi Westhawk,
been offered a job on 737...and they want me to get the rating on the 737-200. I have been looking at Pan Am academy in Miami.
I was an A&P for seven years, then went flying fulltime in 99, currently flying a Beech 1900 in the middle east.
Cheers FM

Hi there,

Have you heard of Higher Power Aviation (HPA) in Dallas Texas! www.jetcrew.com

Just did my 737-200 type with them and then did the differences course on the 300series. They are a great bunch of folks down at HPA.

They use the simulators at Boeing Alteon (DFW) and when fully booked with students also use the Southwest facility at Love field (did mine there and loved it). Currently they are running on about twelve students every week at $7350, looks like the 737 is popular.

Am just about heading to the airport at DFW on my way back to London.
