Wonderful -
They must have found a pilot who flies for free...!
And likes to wear a bullet proof vest...
xxx
I understand that Northeast motto is -
"pilots are a dime a dozen"... "these idiots will fly with salary or not...!" -
Poor idiot that guy must be...
xxx
Should such individual send his CV to me, with Northeast employment record -
I would seriously question that applicant's mental competence.

John Poindexter is not involved with the 747's. Seems he only hooked up with their AOC to get in some promised flying during Hajj. Didn't happen. Heikkla and Paillet are the pennyless guys at NEA. Now one may want to add some guy with a British accent that answers the phone. Don't think that is Poindexter.

Believe Poindexter has his office in Ft L. while the NEA office is in Miami.

Pablo K 20th April 2004 21:14

These guys make me laugh...

747fanatic 20th April 2004 22:24

I guess the 65 age rule gives them good room to find retired pilots over 60. Infact i know a 747 captain over 60 who would do anything to get back in the air.

Blacksheep214 20th April 2004 22:36

Pablo K sounds like you and B767longhaul have an ax to grind with these guys at Northeast or is it sourgrapes. I think you should talk to some of Northeast's 747 crews and find out how good they were treated this past winter and spring. As far as last years Hajj I think you need to take you battle up with the gentlemen in Toronto,Canada. Mr. Scott Smith. If you are owed money he is the guy you should talk to and should be charged with wire fraud.

Blacksheep214 21st April 2004 02:48

It is really a shame the way people use pprune to cry the blues and whine about their misfortunes. This forum should be used to convey useful info between us pilots...

Although I do appreciate being alerted to scams or other such disreputable airlines that may try to take advantage of us.

I personally know several crew members involved in Northeast's B747 Ops this year and can tell you that each crew member was paid two weeks in advance, their per diem upfront and RT ticket. They all received their monthly guarntees for the duration of their contract and all returned home without incident. Those same crew members informed me that the Chief Flight Attendent went home sick from the Middle East prior to the commencement of operations and as far as they know she was paid in full .

I had the opportunity to work for Northeast this year but shyed away after reading previous threads about the L-1011 crews. When I inquired about a position with Northeast and its 747 Ops I immediately voiced my concern as all of us would concerning pay and work conditions. I was told about the pay rates ,per diem, hotel accomdations, training, and travel. All of my questions were answered thoroughly, however I still decided not to go. But now I regret my decision after sitting at home shoveling snow making as some would say "chump change" while others took the position that was offered to me.

Northeast informed me that they were trying to make payment arrangements with last years L-1011 crews and due to financial restrictions they had not yet satisfied those debts.

Before you post make sure you get your facts straight because rumour and untruth's have a major effect on all of us and the decisions that we make after reading them. Case in point- I decided not to accept a position wholly based on this forum on Northeast and my empty pockets and sore back make me regret this every day.

Blacksheep, I think you do not understand the concept of working for an airline and getting paid by that airline. I've been patient and been told that I would get paid all my back wages by NEA. That has not happened. Just because Scott Smith screwed NEA, doesn't mean I should have to go after him. I worked for NEA, not Scott Smith. With your information about 747 crews flying and being paid, it makes me wonder why then, have we still not been paid from last year.

I managed to squeeze some of that owed money out of John P this year as part of my contract. By the way, JP has nothing to do with NEA other than the fact he put his L-1011 on the NEA AOC this year for convenience. JP was paying NEA a fee for that privilege. Rather than that money going to NEA, the Captain and I (both owed NEA money) convinced JP to give some of that cash to us. NEA, still to this day, has NOT paid me a red cent from their pocket voluntarily. For the most part, I have no problem with JP, he has paid me a fair wage and paid on time, nearly every time.

I'm beginning to wonder if NEA ever will ever pay. I have phoned and sent them e-mails many times in the past month and have not received any replys. I'm starting to regret my decision to trust them at their word.

I have personally spoken with the Chief Flight Attendant from NE. She informs me that she has indeed been paid. She also mentioned that there were some unsolved concerns regarding pay with two of the Pursers. One of the other Pursers was paid in full. The Chief Flight Attendant was kind in providing me with the information I requested. She certainly had no bad words for NE and indicated that she would be willing to fly for them again.

ContractFlyGal 25th April 2004 20:02

A friend suggested that I read this site and this link. I am the Chief Flight Attendant that did indeed come home early from the UAE and NEA. I did get paid, they were fair with me. I have no complaints. I spent 6 weeks in the UAE, 4 of them with with later turned out to be pneumonia, I made the decision to seek medical attention out of the UAE. I made the decision to leave but only due to my illness.

I have absolutely no knowledge of any money problems with any of the other cabin crew or cockpit crew.

I wish the gentlemen of NEA success with their flying. If they need me, they do know how to contact me.

B767Longhaul 27th April 2004 02:27

"Pull your head out of the sand"

Hey ContractFlyGal, in case you didn't know, NEA still owes the crews for Hajj 2002/2003, that was before your time.

But,

Your statement of: "I have absolutely no knowledge of any money problems with any of the other cabin crew or cockpit crew".

.... sounds like a naive schoolgirl, and we know that you are not that.

They didn't even get their 747 ready until the last few days of the Hajj, the crews spent more time sitting and waiting than they did flying.

Why not tell it like it really is ?,,,

:yuk: :yuk:

ContractFlyGal 27th April 2004 03:22

Longhaul, What I KNOW is that I was paid and have no complaints. What I DO NOT KNOW is who (if anyone) was not paid from this year.

Since I was not involved in last years operation I don't feel qualified to comment on it.

I know you are owed money but only because you told me you were.

I did hear from two Pursers and they were paid in full. The other two pursers have some contract issues regarding what was or was not covered, they are working on it.

As far as the cockpit crews for THIS YEAR. I have no valid information.

Lies, Lies, Lies, Lies, and more Lies

NEA lost their AOC

Rumor has it that NEA, other wise known as the infamous

NORTH EAST AIRLINES

has lost their Swaziland AOC.

They probably haven't paid them either.

How about it NEA, when you gonna tell the truth ?

and when are you going to pay all of your former employees.

Earl 15th September 2004 17:07

I am sure they will claim that they never had any 747's or Tristar and they events that took place were all in our imagination.
Or that some other company was operating stealing their AOC.
Dont see them on the list for Haj this year.
I hope we never see them again.

flartnog 15th September 2004 17:34

Infamous Northeast

Could not have happened to a nicer group of guys!

747CLASSIC 18th September 2004 04:58

I just heard a rumour that NEA went down the tubes 3 days ago. Any truth to that rumour? If true, It could not have happened to a finer couple of guys! They have done the aviation industry irrepairable damage!

Classic

ironbutt57 18th September 2004 09:49

Yeah...maybe they took "Donkey Dick" AKA TCASTED with them...:ok: :ok:

flartnog 7th October 2004 23:09

Ah, Yes, Northeast

This is the company from - well you know where! While they have lost their Swaziland AOC they seem to be searching for another location in which to register those 74's.

747Dweller 19th November 2004 18:21

They're Back!!!!

New Northeast ad on climbto350.com looking for current and qualified 747 crews.

Wow! A whopping 45 hour guarantee for the Hajj and you get to pay for half of your training. But they promise to pay you back after the Hajj is over. What a joke.

747CLASSIC 19th November 2004 20:55

FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX?

I thought they lost their Swaziland A.O.C. What country A.O.C. will they be operating under? How much lower than Swaziland can they go?
Steer very clear of this one! They operate unsafe junk and then don't pay!
