ONE Air LHR
Hello all,
I hear One air are starting cargo ops out of Heathrow. Does anyone have their T&C’s? What is their interview process like ? |
I cant submit URLs but there are T&Cs listed under Air One on pilotjobsnetwork(dot)com
|
Already operating, they are looking to speak to B747 / B777 type rated pilots who fulfill the the usual criteria e.g. the right to live / work in the UK.
Friend works there, enjoys it good people , good atmosphere. Apply via their website www.oneair.aero Daft Wader :ok: |
Hi Daft Wader If you have any info via you friend on what the rosters are like could you PM me?
|
Anyone know why their second freighter G-ONEE was flown to Victorville last week ?
|
Was there recently. The day comprised of 2 group exercises (no building stuff) followed by a HR interview with lots of 'tell me about a time' questions. No tech. Everyone hangs around till 1430 for a group Q&A. If you pass (result via email some days later), sim check after several weeks (747). Company had delays securing AOC and US operator license so lost some pilots but no one was forced to go because of lack of work. All licenses now secured with expansion on horizon. 3 x 747s due to be online end of April. At least 2 x 777s later in the year which are apparently brand new. They say they have lots of work far beyond their current capability to deliver. The two main guys have been in the freight game for 2 decades, this is their latest venture. They need to hire a further 100 pilots by this time next year. Very open to non-TR (30k bond over 3 years). Most of us on the day without Boeing exp, half of us never flown wide-body. Pay: Base (estimate with variable pay)... Capt: 122k (150k), SFO: 88k (112k), FO 74k (98k) and SO 32k (54k). Usual LOL, medical, cover down route as one would expect for a LH carrier. Forget asking about rosters and length of rotations, it's going to change given the evolution to come and given venture into the US. They also plan to do lots of adhoc stuff. Expect 3 trips a month. UK company and AOC so UK license and UK work rights required.

Hi smooth airperator,
How much is the hourly/day rate ? |
Per diems are £4.50 per hour, £108 per 24hr operating away from base. There is a "discretionary overtime payment" for all block hours above 60, not sure if that is included in the higher amounts above.

Thanks for your reply |
Any chat on the 777s arriving? Early days I know but have they the intention/capability for internal command upgrades?
Thanks |
They explicitly stated all current hiring is for the B747. B777 deliveries are down to Boeing and could be as late as December. Sorry, no idea about internal commands. Though looking at the type of operation this is and the fact that it's a start-up it will be unlikely.

Updates - Psychometrics, Sim profile ?
Interesting thread. Does anyone recently through the process have info on psychometrics and / or sim profile?

Heard the whole thing is conducted by clerks from HR, no pilots! Can't spare them I guess.

Interviews and group ex is HR, not the sim! Though it's only a matter of time
|
Any info on the psychometrics? Test provider and tests required. Is it Cut-e?

The thread title is misleading They are no longer based out of LHR
|
I now have an assessment on imminently. Any further steer on subsequent psychometrics and / or sim profile? Which provider, battery of tests? Do they use Cut-e? Training providers with a 747 sim? Should be able to give some info back in the next couple of weeks, hopefully.

they are capable of internal upgrades . The question will be who goes on the 777 as there are several P1/2s with it on their licence and experience on type
|
I think they are upgrading a few on 747.
777 much later in the year now due Boeing delays |
Can anyone send or pm me some recruitment info on OneAir. Ty

My bad, I saw that and should have been more clear in my original question, is there a specific month set for its arrival or is it still lingering as an “end of the year” thing?
Any word on that 3rd dedicated 747F ex CLA? Wasn’t it undergoing a heavy D check and due to join the fleet this summer? |
Great to see the company is still a happy place with big expansion in the pipeline
Is there much interaction operationally with sister airlines in the group? I see only 1 a/c is operating at the moment so does that have big implications for the schedule/roster/etc? |
Where is the airline going ? Seems like only 1 jumbo is flying and 777’s are in the pipeline and a huge amount of recruitment ?
is thus another flash in the pan ? |

G-UNET has been at EMA for 23 days now I believe engine change is needed??
|
Engine change is in progress. There’s a picture on the EMA Spotters FB page from this morning
|
Any idea how much longer GONEE is out of action?
|
How's life at One Air? Any plans to head west or new routes to Asia? I've a soft spot for them but the fleet seems to spend a lot of time in maintenance which I'm guessing effect the operation I'm thinking..
|
I appreciate it's customer driven, but has Hong Kong fallen out of favour a bit? Or will it reappear with additional airframes.
|
Stuff like that is commercial rather than TCs really and probably sensitive .
I imagine the big markets continue to be HK and wider into China with the odd ad hoc charter . Hoping the 777 will improve the company’s reliability |
Indeed. I was more thinking spending a few nights in HKG and MCT every month is quite appealing.
Great to see they're expanding. |
Anyone able to shed some light on what the roster is like here? Would it be easy for commuters?
Just wondering what the companies like and what people working there think of it so far |

Just wondering what the companies like and what people working there think of it so far Days off are at a minimum and even then they are changed due to continual serviceability issues. |

People are very nice. The roster is a total disaster, it changes hour to hour, and getting through training takes forever.
