I don’t know of any EU or U.K. airlines that will sponsor work visas and residence permits for non U.K. or EU citizens. Have you considered the Middle East ?

no they didn’t , they gave people (thru the IAA) validations of foreign licences for a year until they passed their exams - but they all had the right to live and work in the EU

Yes they did. Plenty of pilots, mainly from south america, received a visa in the UK as well in Ireland, besides the IAA validation for 1,5 years. Visas were given only for Captains due wage restrictions rules for lower salaries.

NTR DEC sim assessment

Hi, anyone knows what kind of sim to expect if you are a non type rated direct entry captain? Thanks for any info

Hello, how realistic or rather unrealistic is it for a cadet pilot to be assigned Vienna base? What is the usual waiting time for this base?
Thanks in advance.

From what I know, forget about it for a few years. BUD, VIE, WAW and LCA are in high demand and the waiting list is long. Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina or the western part of Romania are probably the geographically closest to Vienna bases which you can realistically get in the beginning.

congrats on the assesment. They usually check the originals for example if you sent your digital logbook, make sure to take your original logbook as they might want to see it.

RudderTrimZero 2nd February 2022 15:16

For most of us, our digital is our original. Yes, you have to leave your passport, license and logbooks in a room for them to go through whilst you go away and have a break. Really stupid to do it like that but hey ho.

papalovesjumbo 2nd February 2022 15:24

I know a guy who got refused for lack of paper logbook. It was ryr

PilotLZ 2nd February 2022 16:30

Maybe they would also like to see whether your passport has any black stamps in it or anything at all which could make access to certain bases quite difficult. Border crossing policies are no joke in some places across the network.

Logbook

My new logbook has only 8 pages, would be ridiculous print a logbook with only this…can I take it only in the digital format ? Any ideia?

RudderTrimZero 5th February 2022 07:54

On the day I went, half were electronic, half were digital. Don't sweat about this. Save the sweat for the other parts.

Hi, has anyone been invited to the assessment as a type rated candidate?

nicoli 7th February 2022 15:39

Any updates on the assessment at the moment ?

Are they still failing the majority of candidates and asking useless FCOM questions ?
