easyJet LGW updates
Hi Guys,
Does anybody know of their LGW requirements for captains at moment? I see they are still hiring online but I did hear they have stopped courses at moment? Any updates? |
The wheels have well and truly come off at easyJet's operation, and it's not even school holidays yet.
Management are claiming they're fully crewed for the summer hence, I'd imagine, that they're not recruiting DEC? Just a guess, but if management don't even realise the extent of their errors, then we can only see this downward spiral continuing. Have a look on Twitter and you'll see how bad it's got. They could well be after DEc, but the training department is probably flat-out helping to firefight the schedule. |
Shades of 2010
|
2010? Surely not!
For we have Connected Crew; Drones that scoot around our aircraft; Sneaky Hi Tech Wizz Air training shoes; Directors you never even knew existed.... What could possibly be the problem? Oh yes! It's The French on strike again, the low fuel price (OETD anyone?) The weather, holes in runways, striking pilots (you reap what you sow?) and a bit of Brexit. Nothing to do with having the right number of the right staff in the right place at the right time....couldn't possibly be.We have the right numbers; The analysts were told so. Time for Bosses to get back to the 'shop floor' and speak to the peeps at the coal face:sad: |
They are recruiting for an Establishment Planning Manager
|
Not only that but they have a new Chief Pilot who is not a TRE, you'd imagine it at Wizz Air but not at easy. How does he keep getting these jobs? The amount of people who left Wizz Air under his watch was astonishing and he's now coming into a job with that track record in an airline that is struggling to keep its experienced FO's.
|
Chief pilots don't really mean anything in Easy if I'm honest.
You hear from them once in a blue moon and that's generally only when their is disruption and they are trying to smooth over the HUGE cracks that are appearing!. Unfortunately crew numbers are clearly wrong and our brand has already suffered massive reputational damage and we are not even up to full pelt yet!. 2016 is already a year to forget. |

Getting rid of experiences FO's is the business model is it not.... |
Can't believe there are no more qualified dec or defo within europe forcing u2 to road shows in the me. What about reviewing recruitment standards and recruiters.
|
I'd actually regard it a major positive if the new guy isn't a TRE even more so if he is not ex RAF .
We need some respite from the Squadron Mess antics of the current lot . |
Last year, the recruitment was a shambles. They lost "paperwork", broke promises and I have never, ever, ever had the misfortune to have to deal with someone so rude as the recruitment guy with the initials CM.
I can well believe they need pilots if the recruitment campaign was anything to go by. |
So is it true? Mr. S.P. has switched teams?
|

I'm guessing that they can't find enough pilots willing to work for the amount that Easy want to pay....if Easy were paying 200k a year, I'm sure they'd have a queue a mile long.

BINGO, Hunterboy. Just have a look at these sub-standard contracts in BCN, ODO, AMS, PMI, LIS. Who in their right mind would join this outfit?
|
Part time contracts???
Just a question,
Are parttime contracts 50%, 75% or similar available at easyjet? If yes, How easy or difficult is it to get Part time? Thanks for putting light in the darf Zapper |
Part time at LGW - anywhere else, forget it.
|

Part time is capped to 25% in SXF (No PT in HAM) and full. Good luck with that.
|
It would be very easy to challenge that in court, except if ver.di has signed that right away, which would have been a very foolish move indeed.
|
I've heard they are recruiting only for a hold pool at present. Anybody have any updates?

Hotels LGW
Dear all,
For easyjet commuters Are there any good discounts with Local Hotels in LGW? Best regards Zapper |
Worth mentioning that the Crowne Plaza is offsite and will require a bus/taxi to get to the crew room increasing the cost. Internet is included though as I recall.
I'd also question the wisdom in posting these prices/rates on a public forum. Private message would have sufficed. |
How does commuting work at easyJet? Do many pilots do it?
I live in CPH and have applied to easyJet, just curious if it would be doable to either LGW or another base like AMS or BER? |
I agree, better off deleting those prices as the hotels are sensitive about it.
|
think you were right...and just like magic.....:ok:
|
Anyone could share what to expect the 1st of 3 days screening with Easy? Thanks
|
People commute from CPH to LGW & STN, seem okay with it
|
Easy recruiting for FO's UK wide, however require 1500 hours on type. Does anyone know whether that may come down to circa 500 hours on type at some point?
|
Hi there guys.
I´m thinking about applying for an easy f/o position and I have a doubt about the entry level. You get an SO, FO or SFO position according with your factored hours only or hours and time on the company apply for that matter?. Anyone can help? P.S.: I´m rated on the bus. Thanks |

commuting
Forget commuting on small bases with FRV (no fix pattern).
The company does also have strict commuting rules and monitors it when it does affect fatigue concerns. |
Can any Ezy skipper tell me if Bristol is a base ?
|
Bristol is a base and is very popular.
|
Tks Stone Cold II
I could bet... Bristol is a lovely city. |
Speaking as someone who used to commute with easyJet, I wouldn't worry about the Flexi roster's impact on commuting, it's a non issue. Yes you won't be able to predict your roster but the way that staff travel works these days is never going to leave you able to book commuting flights far in advance anyway. As seats are released you'll be able to book your tickets closer to the time and by that time you'll know your roster. I had no problems with FRV as regards the commute, in many ways I actually thought it was better as you tended to have a longer (ie five day plus) block of days off each month, mixed in with your normal three day/two day blocks.
(Bear in mind my experience is limited to Gatwick though). |
RexBanner - I'm glad commuting worked for you. Your experience is very different to mine. Can I ask how it worked when you did 5 on 2 off 5 on 2 off 4 on 3 off (finishing on a late after the last flight home has left and starting back on a 0600 report back on day one).
Manta time I'd get just one clear day at home. Then it's back to work for 5 four sectors on the bounce, several of which were on minimum rest. At one point I was unable to get home for 3.5 weeks as it simply wasn't worth it coming home. I did have a few blocks of four days off but this was very much the exception. FRV commuting is not a life. It certainly isn't sustainable. |
Ouch, I never had any of those types of rosters. My days off were mostly either 3/4 days. Had the very occasional 2 day block of days off but looking back at my rosters the days before always finished on an early allowing me to get back home in the evening. Four day blocks were certainly not the exception for me and they'd occasionally randomly roster me a five day+ block of days off.
For example In July last year I GDO'd two days and they wrapped another five around them giving me seven, in the middle of summer! It's amazing that experiences can be so different. I think it was possibly as a result of being a contractor on the top rate that I worked less than the SO's who didn't get any sector pay. If it had carried on like that I wouldn't have left, as it was almost a cushy number (or as close to one as you will get nowadays). However I knew as soon as I went permanent that particular set of circumstances would have gone out the window. |
Did 4 years FRV, never got a block of 5 off in a row.
4 only when I was lucky enough to book GDOs.(max 6 times/year) Mostly 3 or 2 days off, occasionally a single one. Commuting was difficult, that said, even on 5/4-5/3 commuting isn't easy and the company doesn't like it either. |
Which base out of interest, Tontito? I was Parc in Gatwick and I still have copies of all my old rosters for tax purposes.
Out of 11 non training months I had nine days off in succession once, seven days off once, six once, five days off 6 times (so roughly half of those months). Four days off in five (just under half). This was in addition to my normal day off blocks which were usually either 3/4. So the total days off for me in the 11 full months outside of conversion training were 164 plus 24 days leave which were contractual but didn't give entitlement to wraps. I had 188 days off in 11 months. This was Parc contract in Gatwick and this happened, I have the evidence to prove it. Now I will gladly accept that it's not a particularly realistic picture to make an ongoing decision on but I just wanted to share with you my experience as I'm surprised it is so radically different to what you are saying. |
