I used 'Hesse and Schrader' for training. The test is not the same but it helps to retrain your brain for some of the tests. And further you get used to this kind of tests again. Besides this I had a look into the ATP question again. Most of them were related to OPS, Performance and HPL.

For Screening Prep I used Easyflighttraining.com.

Long first day. Tests run from 9am to 5pm and then you do a group discussion. Next day only SIM and Interview.

For the day 1 tests, is there a fixed pass rate for each of the tests and if you fail one you are out, or do they use the tests to build an overall profile of the applicant? Anyone knows?

Hi, yes recruiting is going on. They need a lot of pilots next year. Assessment is quite difficult and a good preparation (including Sim - lots of experienced pilots fail this screening) required. Recent collective labor agreement is now in force and it seems they have become a really good company. Good luck on your assessment!

Is it still that bad to fly for Aerologic these days. I see they don’t require German fluency in their job post and say it’s only preferable. And how do the 15 days rotations work, do you get 15 consecutive days off as in some other commuting contracts?

​​​​​How about some details or example questions if you remember them? I checked out pilotenboard . de and it seems like its all about the ALFA/ab initio screenings. Which dont seem too relevant with a direct entry position. What can a 737 rated guy expect in a screening? raw data SID and NDB/ILS? or OEI ops and failures and decision making? Are the technical questions specific to your current A/C type or generic ATPL only?

no, its not a commuting roster like in Asia, you get your 15 days off in 3 or 4 pieces. Usually not 15 days, as they are short of pilots, so you have around 13 OFF days a month average…..

Hi folks, is the german language required? 'Cause the advertisment says english is enough but I have heard pretty rumours about people not getting called due to german level 0 .

I have a friend who went for the interview several months ago. Indeed, they advertise that German is no longer a requirement. However, that is not the case in reality. Conversational fluency required to progress past the first stage, apparently.

Ich habe auch asssessment with Aerologic in Oct.
After reading this thread i specifically asked about the german language requirement and the reply was the following;
"the daily business (flying, documentation,…) is of course in English. Nevertheless, it is always good to have German language skills for small talk within the team.
For the assessment it is required to be able to do the small talk parts in German.
Some tasks will also be in German, some can be done in English, depending on the task."
I hope this clarifies although i find it vague. I don't get what interest would they have to pay accomodation and dinner for people that are not suitable from the begining.

I cancelled my assessment, they were not able to confirm the level of German needed and and all the intel i've gathered was pointing to a high command of the german language, which i lack.

Yeah, not impressive to know such a carrier lacks the ability to speak English, whether professionally or small talk. Restricted to the point of retarded. Ordnung muss sein. Weiter gehen. Schnell.

Well, then learn German, for crying out loud! French airlines require French, Dutch require Dutch and Spanish airlines require Spanish! Big deal!! They don’t owe you anything, if you are so desperate to join then put in some effort!

Does anyone know how long you typically stay an SO before you get to upgrade to FO ?

I believe if you join with 200 hours they give you a type rating and you're cruise relief pilot until about 1500 hours. Then a few more sims and they might let you land the thing.
It's probably a gentler way into the right seat than the usual cadet route.

Interesting. I got an assessment soon and am weighing my options. I also got 2 other assessments ongoing with national airlines as an FO, but they move at a glacial pace compared to what aerologic seems to be doing. I dont have any CS25 experience, but close to 1000 hours. I'd hate being stuck as a cruise relief pilot for years, but a 777 rating is quite enticing (plus the QoL of flying boxes Longhaul). But the low pay also has not escaped me... Any advice? :-)

so let me ask you a simple question: what kind of salary do you expect when joining an airline as a low hour F/O? I am confident that you can easily present some figures that would represent „an adequate amount“ for your effort.

you mentioned that you didn’t even attend the assessment yet…so how do you know about T&C at AeroLogic.
I have to admit that I am not someone who you can call a „fanboy“, neither am I an AeroLogic-Jünger but if you compare the salary to other Airlines within the LH-Group, then you have to honestly say that for someone coming out of flightschool or someone with low hours, payment at AeroLogic isn’t that bad.

If I remember correctly, you will have a restriction on your license as long as you are acting as second officer (cruise relief pilot)
As soon as you complete you training to FO, you will have this restriction revoked.
Requirements for a second officer to upgrade to F/O are 750 hours MPA within the company.

when joining AeroLogic you are required by contract to transfer your license to LBA.

I've been at the assessment. The offer is 53k starting, 3 year bond. Upgrade to FO once you have 750 hours on type at the next opportunity and its done automatically.

As for it being 'low' .. well even if you upgrade to FO, its i think 63k, but i dont remember.

Compare that with starting at a LH subsidiary, you are looking at 70k at AUA & Cityline/CityAirline, and 90k at Swiss.

Its not a bad deal at all, but i think the plus points come from the type of flying, not the pay (and having to be based in leipzig).
