Can't tell you the things you want to know. However just played football with my good mate who works for Excell at head office in LGW. He says they are using more aircraft (767-200 and 737-800)from may and are taking on crews. However!!! He says the aircraft are being damp leased from Air Atlanta (Aircraft/Pilots/In-charge crew memeber) So the only jobs going with Excell are cabin crew. But apparently Air Atlanta are taking on people to cater for this lease. I seem to remember a post on here before on their T&C's etc.

Hope this helps!!

I know they have hired about 20 pilots as from Jan 2002. Some have done a full conversion course on the 738 while others are on differences courses. Quite a few former Virgin Atlantic, BMI, and Aer Lingus pilots.
Rumour is the company is very good to work for and has sound expansion plans.

PRB44 20th April 2002 02:13

JUST TO CLEAR UP POINT MADE EARLIER RE AIR ATLANTA.
EXCEL WILL BE USING THREE 767-200'S FROM MAY,USING
AIR ATLANTA FLIGHT CREW,BUT ALL EXCEL CABIN CREW.
THE EIGHT 737-800'S WILL ALL BE FLIGHT DECK AND CABIN
CREWED BY EXCEL.ON GOING PILOT TRAINING IS STILL GOING
ON,AND ALL CONCERNED THINK IT TO BE A GREAT AIRLINE TO
WORK FOR.WITH AN EXTREMELY BUSY SUMMER AHEAD,VIEWS
MAY CHANGE A LITTLE TOWARDS THE END OF OCTOBER,BUT
ISN'T THAT THE SAME WITH ANY CHARTER AIRLINE. :)

Xenia 20th April 2002 15:21

But will it all change now that your Flight Ops Director (MO'D) is off to pastures new!!??

Did he fall or was he pushed??

Abbeville 16th July 2002 10:29

He neither fell or was pushed. He is off to pastures new.

EXCEL's loss perhaps?

Moronic 16th July 2002 15:13

Are there any Jobs at Excel at Mo for 73 jockeys ? What is the salary for an F/o ?
Bases ?

Thanks
Moronic

Ella 19th July 2002 20:51

Are we talking about Mike O'D?

Where's he off to?, because without him I fear the company may be about to take the wrong slip road off the M6?

Abbeville 23rd July 2002 09:11

Affirm to the comment about MO'D.

Land ASAP 24th July 2002 08:22

I am thinking about the 'new pastures' that MO'D has gone to. Was he a fair boss to work for?

EPRman 24th July 2002 11:32

Where are these pastures new?

PorcoRosso 25th July 2002 13:29

Could someone tell us about the pay of a 737 F/O (What doI take home monthly ?)

Thanks

Fr8t M8te 25th July 2002 15:22

EPRman...if I told you I would have to shoot you:D :D :D

Land ASAP 30th July 2002 15:21

Somewhere warm but at the moment, confidential,

aileron 30th July 2002 17:57

I remember Mike O'Donovan well. He interviewed me for Air 2000 back in 1996. And he hired me. I thought his judgement was impeccable.;)
No seriously, I am also curious to where he may be going. I thought he was one of the good guys.
Cheers!

cruiseczechs 31st July 2002 14:20

sorry to hear MO'D has departed as I was told he stood up for the boys.
Can any tell me if Gerry C is still there as CP, or has he moved up or out.

Wing Commander Fowler 9th August 2002 13:01

Gerry's still there and will be caretaking the role of DFO, I believe.

dick badcock 21st August 2002 00:29

For those who thought we might be tired after the long summer program, I can say up here in GLA we're having a ball. Avg sector length (roundtrip) is about 8.5 hours, so you do the math. Not too much nice weather to enjoy the spare time however!

Homer Simpson 21st August 2002 08:28

Dick,

Can you post contact name / address for CVs ?

Thanks, Homer

crundale 22nd August 2002 11:24

Homer - send it c/o MO'D to Mitre Court, Fleming Way, RH10 9NJ

DB - this is rostering. Have noted your comments about an easy life and will make sure this finishes very very soon. Roll up your sleeves, boy, and get ready for a lot of earlies and some horrendous night patterns in October.... :D :D

PorcoRosso 22nd August 2002 14:21

Any chances to get some infos about the salary package at excel airways ? What do I take home each month as an FO ?

Info appreciated to take important decision

If you dont want to post it on the forum, drop me a mail

dick badcock 22nd August 2002 19:48

crundale

Heard that last week in Oct will be pretty busy, is that why we cannot get leave then...?

DB

Only A Few More Seasons 22nd August 2002 23:18

PorcoRosso 23rd August 2002 12:01

crundale 26th August 2002 15:45

Homer,
he was there on Friday...
Don't know if a definite date for the handover has been set, but I would send it to him if you are sending it this week.
