Question

Can't tell you the things you want to know. However just played football with my good mate who works for Excell at head office in LGW. He says they are using more aircraft (767-200 and 737-800)from may and are taking on crews. However!!! He says the aircraft are being damp leased from Air Atlanta (Aircraft/Pilots/In-charge crew memeber) So the only jobs going with Excell are cabin crew. But apparently Air Atlanta are taking on people to cater for this lease. I seem to remember a post on here before on their T&C's etc.

Hope this helps!!

I know they have hired about 20 pilots as from Jan 2002. Some have done a full conversion course on the 738 while others are on differences courses. Quite a few former Virgin Atlantic, BMI, and Aer Lingus pilots.
Rumour is the company is very good to work for and has sound expansion plans.

JUST TO CLEAR UP POINT MADE EARLIER RE AIR ATLANTA.
EXCEL WILL BE USING THREE 767-200'S FROM MAY,USING
AIR ATLANTA FLIGHT CREW,BUT ALL EXCEL CABIN CREW.
THE EIGHT 737-800'S WILL ALL BE FLIGHT DECK AND CABIN
CREWED BY EXCEL.ON GOING PILOT TRAINING IS STILL GOING
ON,AND ALL CONCERNED THINK IT TO BE A GREAT AIRLINE TO
WORK FOR.WITH AN EXTREMELY BUSY SUMMER AHEAD,VIEWS
MAY CHANGE A LITTLE TOWARDS THE END OF OCTOBER,BUT
ISN'T THAT THE SAME WITH ANY CHARTER AIRLINE.

EXCEL's loss perhaps?

Are we talking about Mike O'D?

Where's he off to?, because without him I fear the company may be about to take the wrong slip road off the M6?

I am thinking about the 'new pastures' that MO'D has gone to. Was he a fair boss to work for?

I remember Mike O'Donovan well. He interviewed me for Air 2000 back in 1996. And he hired me. I thought his judgement was impeccable.
No seriously, I am also curious to where he may be going. I thought he was one of the good guys.
Cheers!

Can any tell me if Gerry C is still there as CP, or has he moved up or out.

For those who thought we might be tired after the long summer program, I can say up here in GLA we're having a ball. Avg sector length (roundtrip) is about 8.5 hours, so you do the math. Not too much nice weather to enjoy the spare time however!
