EZY - new deal for experienced Flexi crews?

Hopefully this is duff gen but if true the Ts&Cs sprial continues............

Any truth to the rumour EZY mgt have asked flexi crew about future command prospects:

"would you accept £50k pa to be an EZY Captain?" ?

gorter 31st July 2012 18:29

Not at easyjet, but are any flexicrew guys up for command yet? But 50000 yeah taking the p**s. Why would you want the responsibility of command on the salary of an F/O?

McBruce 31st July 2012 18:29

If true, we have all these EZY guys in FR threads telling us to get our act together when you allow your unionized airline to run a mock.

73addict 31st July 2012 18:31

No I would definitely not but SADLY there will probably be a long queue to accept if this is indeed true. Why? Because £50K is probably better than their current scenario.

Oh when will it stop?

When there is a smoking hole!!

antonov09 31st July 2012 19:11

Would someone please tell me what the  the union is doing in EZY?

Callsign Kilo 31st July 2012 19:19

BALPA doesn't represent Flexi-crewers or contract pilots in EZY I believe?

spicejetter 31st July 2012 19:51

As a whole current permanents FOs and captains have done little to fight flexi crew as they're ok and have a "I'm alright Jack" attitude.

I think this could be a game changer. Currently permanent FOs on an EZY contract are much better placed to get their command. Current flexi crew first need a permanent contract which are not easy to get and are a thing of the past in the UK.

If this rumour is true then this could be a way of flexi crew getting their command before a permanent FO on an EZY contract. Meaning there is no career progression in the UK. Their (perm. UK EZY contract FOs) only option would be to take thie command in a foreign base where flexi crew is not allowed.

afterall, why would the company pay the going rate for an FO to become captain where you can get flexi crew in at half the price (taking into account pension, sick, no basic wage which are core to the flexi crew Fset up).

I can see this upsetting current permanent FOs big time. Interesting times ahead. This is worse than Openskies, Iberia Express or TED. This I'd cheaper labour within the SAME airline.Remember the upset these projects caused?

ChocksAwayUK 31st July 2012 20:11

cool, but the rumour is clearly bollocks.

Xulu 31st July 2012 20:19

Guys, guys... of course it isn't true. Where on earth did you hear that?

fastidious bob 31st July 2012 20:38

I thought you guys were represented by balpa?

What does balpa have to say about this?
