Phone calls being made this afternoon offering assessments later this month...

Fiesler02 1st February 2012 16:13

Thank you Flying Wild,
but I am quite sure you and the other guys mentioned before that invitation was made only via e-mail.
Phonecall for a direct booking is a new procedures or it happens from time to time?
cheers
Fiesler

Flying Wild 1st February 2012 16:15

Being that there is quite short notice, and only a few slots available, it's probably easier to phone people than send out a mass e-mail. Is it SOP? Who knows.

Fiesler02 1st February 2012 16:26

thank you, I guess it makes sense.
do you know how many slots were available this afternoon?
Today I was flying but I don't have any missed call on my phone so.....:ugh:
Thank you for the info's though:ok:

FlyingTinCans 1st February 2012 16:42

SIM assesments are regularly given out by phone call if the time between you being notified and the date of the SIM is short.

I got an email with about 4 weeks notice, a friend got a phone call with 2 weeks notice.

Good luck to anyone who got an assessment!

Flying Wild 2nd February 2012 12:31

Who knows when the next assessment day may be... are you really willing to risk it?

mesh 2nd February 2012 13:53

Sim phone calls

Regarding day 2 slots, I read the post earlier and also thought I had missed a phone call. So I contacted the very helpful recruiting team at BA and was told not to worry, no calls were being made in fact an email just received stated no March sim slots available at the moment due to ongoing training requirements, so I wouldn't worry. If someone has had a call yesterday or today let us know. The very nice lady also informed me that BA allways honour a day 1 or 2 invite so I should deffinately get a sim and day 1's invited should be fine for both stages if passed.

On another point if you have received an invite to attend either and you don't make it due to work etc I personaly don't feel you will get another chance, so go sick or something. Some people wait a long time to get such an invite and some never get it. just a word of advice, good luck

oops

sorry Flying Wild just looked at your post again, perhaps some slots were freed up for end Feb. Update for March at least.:) As I said, if anyone has received a call it would be good to know, cheers

Fiesler02 5th February 2012 16:01

can anyone be so kind to tell or pm me the phone number of the BA recruiter team?

Anyone out there down at the rivers this coming week (13/2/12) week for day 1 assessment?

Artic Monkey 11th February 2012 12:35

speedtapeking

I'm there on the 14th. All the very best with your assessment.

FlyingTinCans 14th February 2012 12:30

Any start dates recently?

speedtapeking 14th February 2012 17:21

shiney 10 - no its my first shot. just happened to log into my account on ba.com and saw some dates so picked and dived straight in.

anyone got any feed back/pointers etc from last week/this week interviews etc ?

Flying Wild 14th February 2012 19:25

As with any interview, make sure you have quite a few examples to draw on. The questions asked in interview are broadly aligned with the questions you see in this thread and its predecessor. The interviewers aren't looking to trip you up. If you're stumped, there's a handy glass of water on the table which you can sip as you gather your thoughts...

ALLOW 14th February 2012 20:34

Just a quick question did to the guys/gals who attended last weeks selection/sim or very recently.

What time frame did they give you if you were successful?!
Any mention of fleets for this year....i.e long haul etc...

Also would anyone be able to forward me the PM Etops sent around...

Thanks!!!!

Another 14th February 2012 21:11

still waiting for day one slot as well...

one question: where on the login site could i choose a date (once they are available?)
this is after the login on BA Recruitment presumably?

squawkident. 15th February 2012 03:29

Hi guys,

Anybody know when day 1 selection will reopen for civil pilots? At the moment its just for managed/service path. Thanks

Callsign Kilo 15th February 2012 07:17

Word circulating is that it probably wont - not for the foreseeable. The bmi merger has filled a previous void that once existed. I believe this round of recruitment including those in the current pool will be it I'm afraid. Could be wrong, however that appears to be synopsis after the 'yes' vote from the BA pilots.

Chris Griffin 15th February 2012 10:57

"Seriously? Assessments are now issued on a "first come, first serve basis". That stinks a bit.
What happened to the kindly people phoning up offering dates?"

Are you being serious?

Why shouldn't you expect a company the size of BA chase after you for a position for which there are hundreds if not thousands of applicants?

Why should you have to show a bit of dedication and determination in checking the website for assessment dates?

Shiny ten - you have come across quite badly in your last post. Get a grip.
