@narrow runway: you think they will go that desperate that they will allow that again in the near future?

Narrow Runway 20th September 2011 11:47

@enemymine

Well, I was one a couple of years ago. So were many others. I'm not sure if it was desperation, or good business sense.

Anyway, I didn't damage the company, it's assets or it's reputation - I hope!!

All I'd say is: if you're sick of being an FO, have the rating and enough experience, the DEC opportunity at Wizzair is something to seriously consider. It will NOT do your career any harm.

On the contrary, it will very likely enhance it.

It won't be everyone's choice to work in some "exotic" places in Eastern Europe, but having a Command on an A320 makes you more marketable for future opportunities.

drfaust 20th September 2011 12:41

So just to get back to the question of recruitment and bases, anyone any clue where you are most likely to be put at the moment if you get hired by wizzair?

Bigbus330 20th September 2011 17:49

The trouble is, as I read it from their website, they still require 1500 PIC hours on jets above 40 tonnes. This is in addition to an Airbus FBW rating.
Or am I not looking at current info?

Hi DRF,

No one answered that Q, 'cause that's a though one, changing constantly.
But as we speak, Bucharest, Katowice, Vilnius, are some of the safe bets.... Might be all different the day you join.
One thing is sure: Do NOT expect a Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Gdansk, Sofia, Cluj, to mention only a few ones.

Yo!

lakunas 21st September 2011 11:21

Well to be honest regards VNO base, They tend to hire locals. Since there are tons of local CPT's and F/O's who are willing to join right now, I would not bet too much for VNO base.

lakunas 21st September 2011 11:23

To add. Of course it might change any time thou.

Klosterman 21st September 2011 17:40

Phone interview

Collegues,

Did anyboady gets call for phone interview.
How it was.

Send pm please....

CHECHE 21st September 2011 18:26

3 weeks and still no news from them. Which is the average time to receive the call?

enemymine 22nd September 2011 04:13

i wouldnt also bet on vno. they prefer locals and since air baltic is going down they have a lot of applications from there.
i would bet on ktw. since no one wants to visit this place where god kissed mother poland and on top of that you will get a local contract, its quite a safe bet you will end up there.
meaning either living in the woods close to the airport where there is nothing to do except fighting on the streets with drunk locals or accepting a drive to work out of ktw city ranging from 40-90min each day.
in ktw you will also enjoy the same safe environment plus a commander salary of max 5000net or less or as an fo 2500or less. then you might deduct 1000 per month for your rating from these values so i guess thats the place where you end up since everybody is so eager to go there... enjoy!
gdn or poz would be nice places to go but i guess they are full...
about the time for call, no clue, my application was years ago and they lost it so i called and send a new one. then it went off pretty fast!
hr department in wizz is known to be super competent and top notch so give it a bit of time and then call again or re-sent your application, in all their wisdom and glory they might loose yours as well...

favete linguis 22nd September 2011 07:49

Sarcasm, correct?

enemymine 22nd September 2011 16:48

noooo way i would ever use sarcasm here! its a serious issue:-)

usualguy 25th September 2011 19:21

boko 26th September 2011 19:34

Guys, any help on the ONLINE TEST?

You may PM me and I promise to share info about any test, interview, sim , HR

Thanks!

drfaust 26th September 2011 21:04

According to my test you should study principles of flight, autoflight, meteorology, systems and random facts about wizzair. (where were they established etc) You will still find some really tricky questions which I still would not be able to answer (ie. ambiguity). Best of luck.

300Hp 27th September 2011 15:27

Looking for some WizzAir info

hello collegues!
Would appreciate if someone could fill me with some info regarding Wizz Air.
I am thinking to aply for direct entry non-type rated capt.

In which base are now open, how much is the salary, how is with taxes, what money they ask for A320 rating, and what is the best way to apply- direct with wizzair or through the broker. What is with this online Questionary. Somebody knows how does it looks?
Really am interested if you can get Kiev, what is the situation there?

All in all, looking for as much info, so I can decide if it is worth it.
Thanks

wizzkid 30th September 2011 05:42

I would think that having a good look at all the previous posts will give you a good idea what to expect.

Kolino 30th September 2011 17:50

Wizzair info

Hi! The company info you can find in the website of Wizzair and Wikipedia is quite enough. Try Wizzair Quiz in Google.

boko 5th October 2011 18:57

took the online test few days ago.
34 questions straight from THE WHOLE JAA ATPL theory...all subjects.
Same format, same questions, same answers!
6 questions from Wizz Air website.
I sugest review all 18 000 questions for JAA ATPL!

Cpt_Schmerzfrei 5th October 2011 19:35

Did anyone (who's not rated) get a call from them? Still waiting... :bored:

drfaust 12th October 2011 15:03

Well Schmerzfrei, I did the online test and was told I can expect a phonecall in September. Still waiting - NTR FO, ;-D.

Cpt_Schmerzfrei 12th October 2011 15:51

Thanks Doc, same here.:hmm:

B767PL 12th October 2011 19:31

Drfaust

Drfaust, what's your experience if you don't mind sharing that you got interview with?

drfaust 13th October 2011 10:12

@76 I have 1.5K medium TP hours. @sh they send you an e-mail with the confirmation that you have passed and then call you to make an appoinntment for the phone interview, as far as i understand it.

lowflare 20th October 2011 05:46

Is anybody experiencing a delay in scheduling a phone call interview? 3 weeks since successful test, no calls/no e-mails...:ugh:

drfaust 25th October 2011 14:15

Same here lowflare. Still waiting for a telephone call!

Cpt_Schmerzfrei 25th October 2011 20:27

Same here. "Status: Phone Screen Pending" for more than a month now.

boko 27th October 2011 20:45

Same here, guys
Lowflare, drfaust, Cpt Schmerzfrei
Got the test today! /4 weeks exactly/
Strarting to wait with you :-)

buzzlight 30th October 2011 05:35

I applied for Non rated DEC and had my interview with Wizz Feb , 2011. I was successful but never got a call or email from them. I am now flying on the A320 as Capt in my company and received an email from Wizz 1 month ago asking if I am still avilable and interested in joining:eek:

I have sent them numerous emails since passing their interview but they never had the decency to reply.

Guys, stay away from this company unless your in absolute " dire straits ":yuk:

Narrow Runway 30th October 2011 10:14

BUZZLIGHT

A bit harsh I feel.

Wizz do not have the resources to answer everyone's emails. It is disappointing that you perhaps got lost in the system, but to suggest avoiding unless in dire straits is harsh.

Loads of people (myself included) were given opportunities for Command, Training and Management positions in very short order.

Lots of people took these opportunities to progress and then moved on to better things (myself included). Those who stayed are now VERY senior indeed. DFO/Fleet Manager/TRI/TRE/Base Captains......the list is endless.

If you want to speak to secretaries, join a legacy. If you want to fend for yourself (including chasing up applications and being resourceful) apply to Wizz Air. It is NOT a bad airline. It is a GREAT place to take opportunities.

lowflare 30th October 2011 14:39

Well how about a generic e mail saying something like:"We are experiencing delays in recruitment from whatever reason and we will...". Lack of resource for that too? Far from being serious there Wizzair, far from being serious..:=

Narrow Runway 30th October 2011 19:15

Low Flare

The same could be said for: easy, Ryan, Jet2, Vueling etc etc.

And actually, why not ask some of the BA candidates who passed everything in 2007/8 only to never be contacted again?

Look through the fog of disappointment and see the truth.

wizzkid 1st November 2011 06:27

One cannot blame Wizz for the delay in responding to emails. It's just the way they are. Actually like many companies are. I never got a response from them, for about 3 years. Then I emailed a contract agency and got one immediately. Try that if you really want to work with Wizz. As to how Wizz is as a job? Well it can be defined with one word: C.rap.

Cpt_Schmerzfrei 2nd November 2011 16:29

Had the telephone interview today. Very friendly guy called and asked a few questions re: my CV and then he asked about memory items of my actual type. Got an invitation for an interview the same day.

CHECHE 2nd November 2011 17:17

When did you take the test?

boko 2nd November 2011 21:42

Great!

Great!
Good luck!:)

debs 8th November 2011 09:48

FInally got the call last Thursday, out of the blue, since I was expecting for a date to be arranged. Got me in the middle of boarding my flight!

ANyway, short and concise, a few hhrr questions, a memo item from my type, what is CAt II and what would you do if the Capt collapses...

NOw I have been invited for the final interviews and sim assesment.

1) Any light on the interviews (hhrr and technical.)

What type of qus on th technical?
How nice are the hhrr?
Any group exercises?
...

2) I thought the sim was a 737, but apparently it is on an A320.
Can anybody confirm?
What kind of session can one expect?

As always, good health and good luck!

Cpt_Schmerzfrei 8th November 2011 11:53

@CHECHE, I did the test around the end of August.

B767PL 8th November 2011 22:05

debs

debs, do you mind writing your experience and the position you applied for?

good luck.:ok:
