Well I just finished the online tests and holy crap was the the verbal reasoning test hard :{ Think I got to question 32/49
Good luck to everyone, but doubt I'll be getting the call if the tests make up much of your score |
Thought the tests had to be be finished by the 11th July?
|
Does anybody had a call from the recruitment team so far?
|
Anyone on the inside know when the PFO's will start rolling? :E
|
Re the tests
In the email I got it only asked if you could do the tests as soon as you could and you would only have 3days to complete them from when you registered. No mention of the 11th  Seeing as they were accepting applications till the 11th I'm sure not everyone will have completed them before the 11th Today was my first access to a proper computer with a mouse since getting the email. |
I feel like I should be applying to steel inc after the verbal reasoning, as I now know everything about them ha
|
Not quite everything, It was Steel Ltd not inc. Best click the false button for that statement :oh:
|
Syntax Error
Was that tongue in cheek? If not then what a load of . You could say those who applied straight away are desperate and will apply for anything. Personally I did my tests late pure and simply because of work. If Aer Lingus only wanted those that applied quickly then the application window would have been open for one day only. |
vacancy closed on 11th of July. Has there anybody been contacted already? My status still shows Invited for online test. I completed the tests only a few days after the invitation.
|
Same as you Expo.....Wait and see
|
Anybody heard any news yet about the recruitment?
|
No news.
Application date closed on July 11th. What do we think? Are EI really taking their time, pouring over all aspects of a candidate's application not just the aptitude tests results? Or; Have they already chosen a few people for further screening and the rest of us get silence. Thoughts? |
At least a couple of individuals received messages last week for meetings this week in Dublin for the next phase in the selection.
|
I recall in the application they said if you hear nothing you have been unsuccessful
|
Wodka, sorry but your talking rubbish.
From the email sent on the 3rd Jul; "We will be in contact with all applicants after the closing date regarding the next stage in the process" Last I had heard was no one had been called forward yet. Standing by to be corrected.... |
Shamrock hiring
From the initial email...
Thank you for completing your online application form. We would like to confirm that we have received your application for First Officer. ***Current Vacancies*** All applications for current vacancies will be screened to ensure they meet the requirements for the job. Following the initial screening, the most suitable candidates will be invited to participate in the next stage of the recruitment process. If your application is successful at this stage, we will contact you within 4 weeks of the vacancy closing date. If you have not heard from us within this time then we regret to inform you that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion. We are unable to provide individual feedback as to why your application has not been successful due to the volume of candidates applying to our vacancies. All correspondence will be through e-mail and we strongly advise you to monitor your e-mail account. So by that I assume if you have heard nothing by 8th August (+ 4 weeks) it's game over. |
Indeed, but does that email not pre-date the invitations to online testing?
Possibly wishful thinking, but I'm assuming the fact that I received an invitation to complete the tests meant that I passed the "initial screening". |
First statement 'If you have not heard a response within 4 weeks...' came from Aer Lingus.
Second statement 'All applicants should expect to hear response...' came from 3rd party on-line tests supplier. I'd be inclined to assume only successful candidates will hear from HR. This seems to be the standard practice now due to high application volumes and the 'shamrock hiring' thread implies some calls have already been made. Out of the estimated 5,000 applications made you would assume someone would have been told they had been unsuccessful by now if the intention was to contact all applicants. I imagine they are incredibly busy and may still be contacting people after the deadline of the 8th. Also historic AL threads seem to suggest calls continued to be made 2-3 months after closing date so stay hopeful. Probably a team of 2-3 people have been given the unenviable task of wading through 2,500-5,000 applications. This is at the same time as dealing with the Cadet scheme assessments. A very busy time for them so be patient. My advice - keep watching, study up, be ready and keep your fingers crossed. |
Even sleazy managed an ultra polite PFO to every applicant. I would be very surprised if EI didn't do the same thing.
As you say, couple of thousand applications, small department and all concurrent with selection for a cadet scheme. We could all be in for a long wait. |
Thanks for all the informed opinions people! Just have to wait and see I guess, not a terrible prospect for those of us currently flying but awful for those who are not.
If I recall correctly, the last time I applied for a FO position with EI in November 2010 (?) I think! They never contacted me with a PFO email. Busy as the HR department are I hope they manage to put hopeful fools such as myself out of our misery with a PFO in the coming weeks, so we can put yet another tilt at an airline position behind us and move on the the next one! Good luck to the chosen few. |
