How recent was this e-mail ? I got an e-mail a few months ago inviting me to fill in the application form but nothing heard since then.

Deep and fast 30th August 2009 11:38

They will probably let us struggle all summer and then recruit for the winter slow down like they did last year! V logical!!

VFE 30th August 2009 16:33

Better to remain... (excellent name BTW!),

The email contained a link to a different application form than the standard one on their website and requested a photo be supplied. The email was from HR, not sure if it was signed by an individual or standard HR as I had a problem converting my MS Outlook email from Yahoo and have subsequently lost the email. The application would only forward to Outlook and could not be sent as an attachment from any other email account. I have never set up Outlook since aquiring a new PC so tried to convert my Yahoo account but for the record, this cannot be done and added an extra 1.5hrs to my total time required to complete the process which in itself was rather lengthy (an all day affair for those who want to make sure it's good enough).

It seemed positive but hey, as the general mood here suggests, perhaps it is better to remain.... :}

Regards,

VFE.

irishone 30th August 2009 21:55

If its the same email I got, it was a general one from HR. The form is different from online but the same form they emailed out last time, few months ago I got it. Takes a bit of time to fill it out.

Find it hard to believe myself. Must be two months ago now that similar rumours went around, I was speaking to HR and they said they do it to fill the databank. It doesnt actually mean they are recruiting. But please correct me if I'm wrong!

On the up note, the website if filling the bank for ground and cabin crew (including a Dublin base)... so maybe, maybe, something will come up. But maybe I'm just been hopeful!

norton2005 4th September 2009 13:26

I also had the email a few months back inviting me to submit an application but heard nothing since then, any ideas if this is going anywhere?

Better to remain... 7th September 2009 08:39

Hi VFE,

Thanks for the reply and sorry this one took so long.

It was a struggle picking a name for this site but I have found this (my name) to be good advice in the past! :}

I imagine (ever hopeful) that any communications with the company are a good thing and that although the last few days further rumours have developed regarding BA and any other man with a dog that might be interested in regional, as thats what I am interested in continue to keep us guessing.

Im lucky that I have a job, but for how long I dont know.

Friends at regional are still working long days and 'apparently' 1.3 crew down or something like that. I dont know if that is Fo's, Captains or just crew across the whole company. Perhaps with a few route cuts they wont be short again.

I know nothing about management, just how to fly (on a good day);) but of course live in hope that something might happen this year.

Didnt Mr Brown say we were coming out of recession?

Regards,

BRS,

Perhaps I should have...

Total bs about german intake, but if only you were left to imploy in the uk Berger then I'm sure they would look at some.

regional still in a state of flux at the moment and I think no recruitment will happen intil the lhr embraers are secured work for the next 6-12 months.

bilderberger, you might want to read some of your earlier posts on this thread very carefully before attacking the spelling (or grammar) of other posters.
Alternatively, you may wish to take a long walk off a short pier.

CHfour 19th September 2009 22:09

bitterberger,
I don't know who you are (or care) but this site is for professional pilots not failed ones. Just because you couldn't cut it you seem to take a delight in discouraging those with the skills you lack.

bilderberger 19th September 2009 22:24

do you have to tell people your an fo

is that with one stripe or two?
from now on i'm bilderberger the captain which gives me seniority then.
it seems to me that the dribble on this thread is only liked when it gives people hope and false info.
and now all you hopefuls
no one is going to help you or give you a job flying!
they are all to terrified of losing thier own and without the uniform they could easily be "i'm here to help badge wearers"at the local diy or supermarket.
have you ever heard the saying "you make your own luck in life"
this means knocking on doors and get busy teaching flying if your good enough to be an instructor that is.
a lot of guys sneer at the f/i but at least he's doing something instead of reading what others have heard or more likely made up just to let you know that they have and you hav'nt.
(believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see in aviation)
and you wont go far wrong
and anyone who has to put what they are after their name spells it all out.
they probably arn't
right now they are more likely to be drinking their ovaltine and watching top gun.i've been in aviation a long time and i can spot rank droppers a mile away.
now for once "can anyone agree wiyh that"or do you all fall for scam sell?

You certainly have a problem with spelling, and anger which is curious.

Are you a bully boy ?

It seems that I can't keep that quiet nowadays!

Well if he can't have the sense to use the Shift or Caps Lock keys when appropriate then sadly there is not much hope. Also the Full Stop key seems to be missing from his keyboard too. ;)

Not the sort of person we want in our airline! Next.........

all you have to do is simple
create a user name and password
then you give the user name and password to anyone you fancy
then they pass on the details to anyone they fancy
then you have multiple bergers.full stop.
does'nt take a genius to work that out full stop
except of course if your foreign full stop
then you have lots of bergers posting all sorts of info full stop
so when you post a reply full stop
you can't be sure who it is full stop
it could even be your captain.
result!
lots of wannabe's including you crying themselves to sleep whilst hugging their teddy bears because they can't cope with reality
the thought of having to work for a living absolutely terrifies them..two full stops

Sorry bilderbugg.., the positioning of some of your mistakes is quite distinctive- if there are several of you that is an issue between you and your mental health practitioner.
You are correct in one assumption- I am unlikely to be joining bmi regional anytime soon. However, given that I spent nearly a decade working for them before moving on, I am quite sanguine about that.
The level of your animosity to bmir makes it clear that they rejected you- in which case I applaud JB on his judgement.

Interesting that such an expert on bmir does not know the name of the Head of Training...

bilderberger 20th September 2009 22:51

Well, I'am bilderberger 007 and what my fellow agent has implied is absolutely correct! As the virus spreads you will all be infected - including your teddy bears.

Right now there's a considerable number of under cover bilderbergers just waiting to spill the beans and bring you all down to earth with a reality check! Come on guys wake up and don't take things so seriously!

The games is up for BMIR - the hold pool which my fellow agent Bilderberger 00? refers to is well and truly frozen over (even though it resembles a duck pond) and anyone still swimming in it will die from exhaustion or some form of chemical poisoning in the very near future.

I have it on the highest authority that BMIR - and come to it the BMI group as a whole, are clinging on by the skin of their teeth for survival (or thats the tune they intend to sing when they face an employment tribunal with one of the disgruntled Eastern guys they should have taken on following the Airbus contract they took over - not rumour - fact - wait for an update on this one, it's really going to be a veryinteresting read when the full facts come out!

As for JB (could that be John Ding Dong B***) as the Bilderbergers know him - he needs to stand a little closer to the razors edge!

Don't believe all you want to hear about this company - get a reality check and start brushing up on your German (it might be very usefull!)

"Vorsprung durch Heathrow und anderer slots" is the future and the future at BMIR is certainly Lemon!!

Yours truly

Bllderberger 007

Sorry about the spelling berger, in my defence I was using a small hand held device with which I was unfamiliar.

I bet you have plenty of experience with a small hand held though you .

Regional is doing fine at the moment for your info.

Magnifying ....

....glass and tweazers I would have thought !

Nothing wrong with BMIr at all. And there is no telling where a company will go in this industry. Business Air? I'm sure the operation will go on independantly if Lufty or the other big boys don't want them - loads of good guy's and gals there.

I'd go back if I needed a job... I'f they'd have me :uhoh:

Hi. D & F, how's it hanging m8?

Yes... I am personally offended. I thought everyone has heard of me?

speedrestriction 25th September 2009 20:36

Bilderberger, I've reported you for spamming (it is against forum rules). Back to the thread - I know it may be academic but are there many FOs in Regional with the required experience for command? How many hours has the company looked for in the past for upgrades?

sr

LKMflyboy 25th September 2009 21:30

The requirements for command upgrade are generally 2000hrs for the assessment, with command possible from 2500hrs (minimum of 1000hrs on type I think).

There are 20 FO's in the command hold pool at the moment - many more below also have more than enough experience to be considered for an upgrade.

bilderberger 26th September 2009 17:53

spamming?

but i was eating a corned beef sandwich at the time with a bit of onion mashed in.
criteria for command is as follows
a**e kissing
back stabbing
and fluent german
redundancy starts on tue next week
anyone know anything about double glazing?:}

Deep and fast 26th September 2009 19:42

I don't think I'll hold my breath over any of your info, or laugh at your humour Berger.

Regional may have redundancies in the future but only lufthansa would know that.

My view is embraers out of lhr march to coincide with route expansion for the economic upturn. Command upgrades, not a chance in any significant numbers.

Ape, it's hangin fine m8.
