Just returned from the City Jet interview this morning. Very relaxed and informal, tell them about yourself and previous flying experience. about an hour in all. No Aptitude test on the initial interview however, they do indicate that if your called to Dublin for a Sim assessment you will also undertake the AT.

Hope this helps.

Yorky Towers, that is a surprise to hear that as I got a call just this morning inviting me to take an aptitude test next week (the 13th) at London City. I presumed that this was standard and that interview and sim ride would come later?

Thanks Yorky for the info and the best of luck. :)

boeingbus2002 8th August 2008 10:24

What are your experience levels and how long ago did you apply?
I have applied several times and always get a negative response! (320h)
Good luck tho!

boeingbus2002, I have just over 1000TT with about 550 hours MEP. No turbine or Jet time. I applied approx 4-6 weeks ago.

maybe it has something to do with your pprune name?

Standard protocol seems to be aptitude tests first, then interview and sim. Aptitude tests either Dublin or LCY and if they're in Dublin, you are expected to make your own way there and back without reimbursement.

Hmm, things have changed then. I was attending tests with them in CDG and sim in DUB, and they payed for transport for all of it. Had to sort my own HOTAC though in CDG but that was pennies.

Didn't accept the job offer though as something better came along so know nothing about current conditions.

Good luck, they seem to be a pleasant bunch of people :ok:

I attended last Thursday 7th August for interview at London city, chatted to a couple of other people there of which none of us had taken the aptitude test. It was mentioned that this would be done in Dublin along with Sim if we were called back to do so.

Thats how it happened for us! We were also told we should hear something by next Wednesday with regard to the Sim, whether it be positive or negative

The next Sim checks have been set up for the 15th August I believe.

Good luck

regards
Yorky

Does anyone know if they are still interviewing?? if so how long before you hear anything?
Does the interview have any technical questions or is it just about you as a person and personal experiences??
Thanks

BA_Baracus 13th August 2008 17:25

Does anyone know how CityJet are doing? I've heard they're struggling more than most in these hard times. Can anyone shed light on this?

lfrk 13th August 2008 17:59

not well !!
zurich is stop from mid september, minus 1 strasbourg, minus 1 ORY and I think its just the beginning !!!
I don't know what they gonna do with the slots ? we don't have any infos from the fantastic management we have as usual....

XLNL 13th August 2008 22:26

well lfrk, if you know about cancelling of routes you probably heard of the starting of new ones as well. Seems you're not informed, how do you know about cancelling of certain routes?
I dont think cityjet is struggling more than anyone else/the competition in these times, with struggling I of course mean getting enough crew and aircraft to fly the routes they actually want to fly...

5Papa 14th August 2008 12:39

What else than AMS?

XLNL 14th August 2008 14:18

As far as I am aware they still wetlease on the cdg-got route. The cancelling of flights seems to be to get aircraft/crew to operate something else... Didn't hear what exactly yet...

Jetfella 15th August 2008 21:22

yea right,
and the scrapping of the profit share means nothing?

acebaxter 16th August 2008 07:17

"yea right, and the scrapping of the profit share means nothing?" ;So did they get rid of the profit sharing plan or are they saying the plan is in place but no profits to share this year? Two totally different scenarios.

Unionjet28 18th August 2008 13:46

wx

Plan in place, no profits to share this year. Anyone who didnt expect this to happen anyway with the build up of so many new London routes in the last financial year is kidding themselves.

It doesnt spell doom for the airline or anything close to it.

And well done to the clever individual who rose to the bait of the BA poster a few posts back.....

Can we please keep the focus on the inital question regarding recruitment please.
