NAS Saudi 31 off/35 on contract

Anyone with info of this contract with Storm?
What routes, sectors, etc.
Good or bad, any info gratefully received.

An initial search would indicate this is aligned with Net Jets Middle East??
Would this be more of a Corporate job or Airline job?

BR.:ok:

I've looked at the Middle East forum and not too much info there.:hmm:

So, the whole world revolves around Sterling and the Empire still exists? Have aircraft prices, fuel prices (hint, hint - the stuff that comes from Saudi), leases, etc, etc, switched overnight from USD to Sterling?

The Riyal (that's the Saudi currency, by the way) is pegged to the depreciating USD, as are other currencies in the Gulf including the Dirham (that's the currency in the UAE - y'know, where Dubai and Abu Dhabi are - near Basra). So at least the Saudis aren't coining it with the exchange difference, unlike others nearby (take a bow, India - sorry the Raj if that makes you more comfortable) who think it's hilarious as their expat pilot costs are going down with the appreciating Rupee.

Why don't you take your salary in Sterling, multiply it by the current crappy Dollar rate, and contact airlines in the likes of Japan, Korea, Vietnam, China, India, South America, the Gulf, etc, etc insisting that they should pay you at least 20% more than that as you'd have to live away from home, and can you have first class tickets for you and your family for leave periods also, please? Oh, and Christmas off. I bet the offers come rolling in.

(Edited to give empire a capital "E")

Caution.Even though you're a Captain, you will be often asked to fly as first officer with a local Captain. In the interview, they just ask you if you dont mind flying in the right seat from time to time.Actually, you do a lot of it,and as first officer not P1.
The days off are good but salary is poor for what it is.Difficult place, lot of patience required.Be warned.

i have just been accepted as F/O on this contract............Damn site better than where i am, i'm sure there are issues, just like everywhere else. If this thread is still running in 6 months, maybe i will give an honest opinion.

NAS

It's a LCC based in Riyadh and operating locally in saudi arabia. They also operate a VIP scheduled service between major cities in saudi arabia and also to dubai. NetJets Middle East is aligned with them but they are a seperate ops based in Jeddah. Riyadh is a large city of 5 millions people but it's so conservative. Jeddah is a 3 million people city and much more open thAn Riyadh. I worked for NAS in 2003 and YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT!!

Greetings all...........

a few people have pm me about NAS, and in my excitement reading prune, i have missed the fact that there is a little icon at the top of the screen telling me people want to say hello. Sorry chaps, terribly rude of me. I will be off the computer for a couple of days, but will get round to you all soon (thought i would post this so you could all read it, hope the mod doesn't mind!)

Stay safe and above all.........

The job is in fact three-fold :
-NASair is a lo co doing domestic and inter Gulf routes
-Al Khayala offers luxury services, domestic and Dubai
-NetJets, based in Amsterdam at the moment, caters for a time-sharing of 319 ACJs just about worlwide.
They base you wherever they have need for aircrews, in the scope of your working scheme (35 dys on,31 days off or six weeks on, two weeks off )
When in Riyadh, the accomodation is in one of the luxury compounds that belong to the big boss. One can live easily in them without ever setting foot outside (facilities need to be believed !)
The OPS team are pros from Brit airlines.
Aircrews : It's an international environment with some very nice people.
Hope it helps.

Amelia84 23rd January 2008 05:50

Hi everyone,

I am having big problems applying on line with Al Khayala.
Does anyone have a contact number or email address for someone in HR?
I would really appreciate it!!!
Thanks a million!

NAS requirements

Hi all,

I have 650hrs total, 200hrs A320.
I received a letter from NAS saying that I would not be considered as my experience does not meet the required level.
I know of an individual with just a type rating from Storm and no hours on type who was offered a position.

Should I be applying by other means??:) Please feel free to PM me.

Kind regards,

John.

PS- If anyone has any info on other A320 jobs anywhere in the world I'd be very interested to hear from you!! I'm trying Asia/ India but with no success as of yet.:ok:

Lemurian 23rd January 2008 09:59

Re Al Khayalah

You can't.

Fly Ginger 23rd January 2008 15:53

Amelia84

i think Lemurian is correct in saying you can't apply for just one side of the business (though you need to speak to someone who knows a lot more than me)
