NAS Saudi 31 off/35 on contract
Anyone with info of this contract with Storm?
What routes, sectors, etc. Good or bad, any info gratefully received. An initial search would indicate this is aligned with Net Jets Middle East?? Would this be more of a Corporate job or Airline job? BR.:ok: |
I've looked at the Middle East forum and not too much info there.:hmm:
BR. |
Some new info,
Captains salary is $12700/month for 6 weeks on 2 off. $10500/month for 35 days on 31 off. F/O's salary is $8500/month for 6 weeks on 2 off. $7250/month for 36 days on 31 off. BR. |
So, the whole world revolves around Sterling and the Empire still exists? Have aircraft prices, fuel prices (hint, hint - the stuff that comes from Saudi), leases, etc, etc, switched overnight from USD to Sterling?
The Riyal (that's the Saudi currency, by the way) is pegged to the depreciating USD, as are other currencies in the Gulf including the Dirham (that's the currency in the UAE - y'know, where Dubai and Abu Dhabi are - near Basra). So at least the Saudis aren't coining it with the exchange difference, unlike others nearby (take a bow, India - sorry the Raj if that makes you more comfortable) who think it's hilarious as their expat pilot costs are going down with the appreciating Rupee. Why don't you take your salary in Sterling, multiply it by the current crappy Dollar rate, and contact airlines in the likes of Japan, Korea, Vietnam, China, India, South America, the Gulf, etc, etc insisting that they should pay you at least 20% more than that as you'd have to live away from home, and can you have first class tickets for you and your family for leave periods also, please? Oh, and Christmas off. I bet the offers come rolling in. (Edited to give empire a capital "E") |
Thanks Bad Robot, I was going on old info.

Caution.Even though you're a Captain, you will be often asked to fly as first officer with a local Captain. In the interview, they just ask you if you dont mind flying in the right seat from time to time.Actually, you do a lot of it,and as first officer not P1.
The days off are good but salary is poor for what it is.Difficult place, lot of patience required.Be warned. |
i have just been accepted as F/O on this contract............Damn site better than where i am, i'm sure there are issues, just like everywhere else. If this thread is still running in 6 months, maybe i will give an honest opinion.

At least you're a balanced individual - with chips on both shoulders......... |
NAS
It's a LCC based in Riyadh and operating locally in saudi arabia. They also operate a VIP scheduled service between major cities in saudi arabia and also to dubai. NetJets Middle East is aligned with them but they are a seperate ops based in Jeddah. Riyadh is a large city of 5 millions people but it's so conservative. Jeddah is a 3 million people city and much more open thAn Riyadh. I worked for NAS in 2003 and YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT!!

Greetings all...........
a few people have pm me about NAS, and in my excitement reading prune, i have missed the fact that there is a little icon at the top of the screen telling me people want to say hello. Sorry chaps, terribly rude of me. I will be off the computer for a couple of days, but will get round to you all soon (thought i would post this so you could all read it, hope the mod doesn't mind!)
Stay safe and above all......... Fly Ginger |
The job is in fact three-fold :
-NASair is a lo co doing domestic and inter Gulf routes -Al Khayala offers luxury services, domestic and Dubai -NetJets, based in Amsterdam at the moment, caters for a time-sharing of 319 ACJs just about worlwide. They base you wherever they have need for aircrews, in the scope of your working scheme (35 dys on,31 days off or six weeks on, two weeks off ) When in Riyadh, the accomodation is in one of the luxury compounds that belong to the big boss. One can live easily in them without ever setting foot outside (facilities need to be believed !) The OPS team are pros from Brit airlines. Aircrews : It's an international environment with some very nice people. Hope it helps. |
Lemurian
Thanks for the post. That goes along with what i have heard myself, i have had the interview here through storm and spoken a couple of times with N.W. out there, seems genuine and all above board. I go for my medical and visa applications next week, cant wait to start

NAS requirements
Hi all,
I have 650hrs total, 200hrs A320. I received a letter from NAS saying that I would not be considered as my experience does not meet the required level. I know of an individual with just a type rating from Storm and no hours on type who was offered a position. Should I be applying by other means??:) Please feel free to PM me. Kind regards, John. PS- If anyone has any info on other A320 jobs anywhere in the world I'd be very interested to hear from you!! I'm trying Asia/ India but with no success as of yet.:ok: |
Re Al Khayalah
You can't.
|
Amelia84
i think Lemurian is correct in saying you can't apply for just one side of the business (though you need to speak to someone who knows a lot more than me)

Just short of 6000 hrs....2800 airbus.. Not a word. I am sure they are desperate for crew:p

|Bukra Insha'ala . . . .
Welcome to Saudi Arabia.
Why do things today when there is always tomorrow? They are very desperate for pilots, and it seems capable ops staff . . . |
Forgive my ignorance, but I am a little confused about which NAS this thread is about.
There is National Air Services in Saudi Arabia: http://www.nasaviation.com/ And there is NAS Air of Saudi Arabia: http://www.flynas.com/eng/index.html Thanks in advance for clearing this up! Skyward80 |

Click on the NAS aviaation site.
At the bottom of the home page, you have the logos and the scrolling types of subsidiary businesses they cover. NASair is the semi-loco part of NAS aviation. Alkhayala is luxury commuter NetJets is the fractional ownwership part... Hope it helps |
Merci! Just like me to miss something like that.

Some more details about actual conditions in NAS Aviation
Hey,
I have an offer from NAS Aviation based in Dubai on Falcon 900 B. Is there anybody to give me some details about the general conditions in the company, the pay scale, the medical coverage and roster and ... everything interesting? Thanks so much for this, Cheers, Yves |
Late news is that the 900B is a factory loaner for a managed client that is awaiting delivery of a New 2000LX when delivered to NJME.
Cant help with T&Cs but would suggest that they are all pretty close across the board within the family. Most of the managed contracts were 8/4 weeks but it appears some of them becoming 35/31 as well. It is possiable once in the group to transfer but that is generally after you have served your bond/ contract period. One Saudi pilot and one Expat have gone from NAS managed to NJME, I dont know if anyone from Alkhayala has shifted as I have never meet any cockpit crew only the girls from the back. |
anyone know the FO mins to apply for NAS (NJME)? I saw somewhere else 1500TT with IATP
|
